Mumbai: Himalaya Wellness Company has appointed Varman as its Head – Media & Digital Planning and Investment Strategy, strengthening its leadership as it sharpens focus on data-led marketing and performance-driven media investments.
In his new role, Varman will oversee the company’s end-to-end media and digital mandate, including media planning, investments, performance marketing and long-term capability building. He will work closely with internal brand and business teams as well as external agency partners to ensure media spends are aligned with business outcomes, while advancing Himalaya’s insight-driven approach to marketing communications.
Varman brings nearly two decades of experience across media strategy, digital marketing, investment planning and large-scale brand building, having worked across both advertiser and agency environments. Most recently, he served as Head – Media & Digital Marketing at Zydus Wellness, where he led media transformation initiatives across categories and portfolios, with a focus on efficiency, innovation and measurable impact.
Before Zydus Wellness, Varman was General Manager – Media Planning and Investment Strategy at Body Cupid Pvt Ltd, where he managed media investments for brands including WOW Skin Science, WOW Life Science and Body Cupid. During this tenure, he played a key role in building structured media investment frameworks designed to maximise ROI across traditional and digital platforms, supporting the brands’ rapid scale-up.
Varman is no stranger to the Himalaya ecosystem. Earlier in his career, he spent over five years with the company as Media Manager at the Himalaya Drug Company, where he led media operations across television, print, radio, digital, content marketing, activations and brand PR. Reporting directly to the business leadership, he was instrumental in shaping Himalaya’s integrated media planning approach and contributed to high-profile celebrity partnerships and sports-linked initiatives, including associations with Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Royal Challengers Bangalore, the ICC and IPL-linked campaigns.
His professional journey also includes a stint at Madison World Group’s MEC, where he handled media strategy, buying and investments for marquee clients such as Cadbury, OREO, TVS, Flipkart and Accenture. He began his career with roles at Sun TV Network and Chandrasena Media Ltd.
