New Delhi: Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd (HMVL) has elevated Sameer Singh as its Managing Director, marking a key leadership move as the company sharpens its focus on digital transformation alongside its legacy print business. The appointment will take effect from March 1, 2026, subject to shareholder approval, and is for a five-year term, the company said following approval from its Board of Directors.
Singh will continue to be designated as Key Managerial Personnel of the company. His elevation follows his earlier appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Media Ventures and Group Chief Executive Officer of HT Media, also effective from March 1, 2026, reflecting a consolidated leadership structure across the group.
An alumnus of IIM Calcutta, Singh brings over three decades of experience across media, digital platforms, advertisers and agency ecosystems. Prior to joining the HT Media Group, he served as Head of North America, Global Business Solutions at TikTok/ByteDance, where he led large-scale advertising and sales operations across the region. Before that, he headed the platform’s Asia Pacific business in a similar capacity, overseeing growth across multiple international markets.
Earlier in his career, Singh was CEO of GroupM India and South Asia, where he played a pivotal role in scaling the media agency network with a strong emphasis on digital leadership, content innovation and competitive advantage for clients. His professional journey also includes senior leadership stints at Google, GSK, Procter & Gamble, and IPG, spanning global client strategy, agency partnerships and the evolution of media investments into digital-first ecosystems.
The leadership transition comes at a time when Hindustan Media Ventures is navigating structural shifts in India’s news consumption landscape. While maintaining its strong position in Hindi print markets, the company has been steadily increasing investments in digital platforms, products and capabilities to drive long-term growth.
Singh’s elevation is expected to provide strategic continuity as HMVL balances scale, profitability and transformation in a rapidly changing media environment.
