Mumbai: In a key leadership reshuffle aimed at strengthening its marketing bench, Britannia Industries Limited has appointed Puneet Das as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and elevated Siddharth Gupta to Vice President – Marketing.
Gupta’s promotion came into effect on February 1, while Das will assume charge as CMO from February 16.
The internal elevation of Gupta signals continuity in leadership at Britannia. A part of the company since 2018, he currently heads marketing for its Biscuit, Wafer and Snack portfolio—categories that remain core revenue drivers for the FMCG major. With nearly two decades of experience, Gupta brings expertise across brand management, strategy, innovation, communication, customer marketing and sales.
Before joining Britannia, Gupta spent over ten years at Colgate-Palmolive, where he started as a Management Trainee in 2006 and went on to lead marketing for key toothpaste segments, including Freshness, Whitening and Sensitivity.
Meanwhile, incoming CMO Puneet Das brings over 24 years of experience across Indian and international FMCG markets, having worked in regions such as Africa, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. Over the course of his career, Das has held senior leadership positions at companies including Marico Limited, PepsiCo India, GSK Consumer Healthcare India, and Tata Consumer Products Limited.
He has worked on prominent global and Indian brands such as 7Up, Boost, Horlicks, Tata Tea, and Tetley, building experience across beverages, nutrition and packaged foods.
The leadership changes come as Britannia continues to sharpen its brand and portfolio strategy amid evolving consumer preferences and competitive intensity in India’s fast-moving consumer goods sector.
