Sazerac enters India’s ready-to-drink market with BuzzBallz rollout

Mumbai: Sazerac, a global spirits company, has officially forayed into India’s Ready-to-Drink (RTD) segment with the launch of BuzzBallz, its single-serve, bar-strength premixed cocktail brand. The move marks a strategic step in Sazerac’s long-term growth plans for the Indian market, reinforcing its commitment to expanding a portfolio of innovation-led, high-potential offerings.

BuzzBallz enters India following strong international momentum. The brand is currently the fastest-growing alcohol beverage brand in the United States and ranks among the top-selling RTD cocktails in both the US and UK markets. Its India debut signals Sazerac’s intent to tap into the country’s evolving consumption patterns and growing demand for convenient cocktail formats.

For the Indian market, the company has introduced three flavour variants—Berry Lemon Squeeze, Strawberry Squeeze, and Chilli Guava Groove—developed specifically to cater to local taste preferences. Each variant offers bold, flavour-forward profiles aimed at appealing to young, experimentation-driven consumers. The product is packaged in a distinctive 180ml spherical single-serve bottle with 15% ABV and is priced at an MRP of INR 100, designed to provide convenience, accessibility, and new consumption occasions.

“India is a priority market for BuzzBallz as we expand internationally and tap into high-growth RTD opportunities,” said Jess Scheerhorn, Vice President, BuzzBallz. “The country’s spirits landscape is evolving quickly, with premiumisation and cocktail culture creating new consumer occasions. Our launch in India reflects our belief in the long-term potential of the market and our commitment to building the RTD category with disruptive, high-quality innovations.”

The rollout has commenced in Bangalore, with expansion planned in key markets such as Goa in early 2026. While India’s RTD segment remains relatively nascent, it is witnessing growing traction as younger, legal drinking age consumers increasingly adopt ready-mix solutions, experiment with cocktails, and explore occasions beyond traditional drinking settings.

Sazerac plans to further strengthen its presence in the category through continued innovation, portfolio diversification, and expanded distribution in the coming years, positioning BuzzBallz as a key growth driver in its India strategy.
