Mumbai: Matrimony.com has appointed Ajit Nair as Business Head – Assisted Services, reinforcing its focus on strengthening its premium, people-driven matchmaking vertical. The move underscores the company’s strategic emphasis on deeper customer engagement and service excellence in a category where personalized interaction remains a key differentiator.
A seasoned professional with over two decades of experience across customer operations, sales, strategy, and service excellence, Nair is recognised for building customer-centric teams and scaling service models while retaining a strong human touch. His leadership blends strategic thinking with disciplined execution, positioning him to lead a high-value, relationship-driven business vertical.
Nair began his career in the BPM sector with WNS Global Services in 2006, where he developed expertise in service delivery and team leadership. He later gained global exposure at Nomura, focusing on governance and program management. Armed with an MBA (PGDBA) in Operations from Welingkar Institute of Management, he moved into broader strategic roles.
His association with the matrimony industry spans over a decade, primarily with Shaadi.com, the flagship brand of Matrimony.com Ltd. Joining as Operations Manager in 2012, he rose steadily through the ranks — Senior Operations Manager, Associate Director, Director, and Senior Director of Operations — leading multi-city teams, national service operations, automation initiatives, and customer lifecycle strategies. He is credited with making operations more customer-focused and advancing the company’s premium service offerings.
In December 2025, Nair was elevated to Vice President & Business Head – Assisted Services, where he oversees a key revenue vertical and leads digital transformation initiatives for high-value matchmaking services. In his current role, he will continue expanding the scope of personalized matchmaking.
Nair now heads Matrimony.com Ltd’s assisted matchmaking division — a hybrid model combining technology and human expertise to deliver curated partner search experiences. His mandate includes driving innovation, enhancing service quality, expanding premium customer segments, and reimagining relationship management for a new generation of users.
