Mumbai: Almighty Motion Picture is set to adapt Harsh Realities: The Making of Marico, the acclaimed business bestseller chronicling the entrepreneurial journey of Harsh Mariwala, Chairman and Founder of Marico, into a screen production.
The move comes as the production house builds on the momentum of its recent project Made In India – A Titan Story, which has garnered industry attention for its scale and storytelling. The book, co-authored by Mariwala and globally respected business strategist Ram Charan, traces the evolution of Marico into one of India’s leading FMCG companies and offers insights into the leadership philosophy behind its growth.
Development on the adaptation is set to begin soon, with multiple award-winning writer Karan Vyas attached to the project. Vyas is known for his work on acclaimed titles such as Scam 1992, Scoop and Made in India – A Titan Story.
Currently in early development, the project will delve into Mariwala’s pivotal decision in 1987 to branch out from Bombay Oil Industries Ltd. and establish Marico, a move that laid the foundation for a globally recognised consumer goods company.
Beyond charting corporate milestones, the adaptation aims to capture the human story behind the brand—highlighting the grit, risk-taking and strategic thinking that transformed a traditional business into a professionally managed global enterprise.
