Mumbai: HiveMinds, part of Madison World, has launched the fourth edition of its Ecommerce Playbook titled “The Great Digital Shift” at the HiveMinds Ecommerce Conclave 2026, offering a comprehensive guide to navigating India’s rapidly evolving digital commerce landscape.

Developed through extensive research, analysis, and industry observation, the playbook brings together actionable insights, frameworks, and real-world learnings aimed at helping marketers adapt to structural changes reshaping brand building in a commerce-first world.

“This year we are not talking about a small change… this year the change is big. That’s why we called it the great digital shift,” said Deepti Bhadauria, CEO, HiveMinds.

The 2026 edition highlights a fundamental transition from performance-led marketing—focused on clicks, attribution, and optimization—to a more integrated approach where storytelling, personalization, and consumer experience take centre stage.

“We just wanted to assimilate the learnings from the full year… and put them together into a replicable, referable format,” Deepti Bhadauria noted while introducing the playbook.

According to the report, several key forces are driving this transformation, including the rise of real-time personalization, growing importance of data partnerships, increasing adoption of AI-driven campaign automation, and the evolution of digital platforms into storytelling ecosystems.

“Every digital platform is now a storytelling medium,” Deepti highlighted, underscoring the central role of brand narratives in modern digital strategy.

The playbook also examines changing consumer behaviour in India, particularly the redefinition of affluence based on intent and willingness to pay for convenience rather than traditional income metrics.

“There is a whole generation that is ready to pay for the luxury of time,” she noted, pointing to shifting expectations around speed, convenience, and user experience.

Looking ahead, the report outlines how artificial intelligence and data will further transform marketing, enabling more adaptive, efficient, and personalized campaigns.

“There will be even more usage of AI… and campaign management will become even more automated and efficient,” Deepti Bhadauria said.

Beyond insights, the playbook serves as a practical toolkit for marketers, offering frameworks on full-funnel integration, creator-led influence, balancing performance with brand investments, and unlocking growth in emerging consumer segments.

The launch underscores a broader industry shift where personalization is becoming essential, content is driving both discovery and conversion, and brand building is increasingly intertwined with performance marketing.

The foreword to the playbook has been authored by Sam Balsara, Chairman of Madison World, who noted that “HiveMinds has consistently stayed ahead of the market by embracing emerging practices and applying technology and data to real business challenges.”

First introduced in 2023, the HiveMinds Ecommerce Playbook has evolved into a key industry resource, combining strategic thinking with practical application to help marketers navigate the ongoing transformation of digital commerce in India.
