Chennai: Travel-tech platform Pickyourtrail has announced the appointment of Janani Kandaswamy as its Head of Marketing, as the company sharpens its focus on building a differentiated, brand-led growth engine in the rapidly evolving travel category.
Janani brings over 15 years of cross-category marketing experience spanning FMCG, stationery, appliances, automobile and telecom sectors. She has previously held leadership roles at Versuni India and ITC, where she worked on building and scaling brands such as Preethi, Classmate and Mangaldeep, while driving digital-first growth and shaping end-to-end consumer journeys.
At Pickyourtrail, she will lead efforts to strengthen the brand’s positioning as a category leader in customised international holidays, while expanding its relevance across emerging and adjacent travel segments.
Founded by Hari Ganapathy, the company has been reimagining how travellers plan and experience holidays by combining technology, personalisation and expertise to deliver what it calls “Sooper hit holidays.” It is currently among the fastest-growing holiday brands in India, driven by rising demand for curated travel experiences.
Commenting on her appointment, Janani Kandaswamy said, “Travel is one of the most emotionally charged yet cognitively complex categories for consumers.
The next phase of growth will belong to brands that can combine deep personalisation with simplicity, and storytelling with seamless execution.
Pickyourtrail has already built a strong foundation here, and I’m excited to scale this into a brand that not only organises trips but also shapes how people experience the world.”
The appointment comes at a time when Indian travellers are increasingly prioritising premium, personalised and hassle-free travel experiences.

Hari Ganapathy, Co-founder and CEO, Pickyourtrail, added, “At Pickyourtrail, we’ve built a strong product-market fit over the years. The next step is to translate that into a distinctive, enduring brand.
With Janani coming on board we’re doubling down on building the most loved travel and experience brand. She will sharpen our brand narrative with deep consumer insights and disciplined execution that will accelerate growth across markets and categories.”
Looking ahead, Pickyourtrail aims to deepen its presence in key international markets while expanding into domestic holidays and adjacent travel-experience categories. As part of this strategy, the company recently launched Fluid, a digital platform designed to streamline corporate travel by automating processes, reducing decision-making time, and enhancing the booking experience.
