Kochi: Mathrubhumi Group has secured international recognition at the prestigious Golden Award of Montreux 2026, marking a significant milestone for the Kerala-based media conglomerate on the global stage.
The company’s flagship IP initiative, Kappa CULTR 2026, won a Gold Award in the Consumer/Public Events category, while its knowledge-driven platform OBSVR (Observe, Verify, Reveal) earned a Finalist Certificate for the documentary Edakkal Caves: Great Indian Heritage in the Corporate Film (Tourism Films) category.
Mathrubhumi stood out as the only Indian media house to receive this distinction, even as India recorded a strong showing overall with five gold medals across categories.

The Golden Award of Montreux, considered a key platform in the global creative calendar, recognises excellence across advertising, digital, and media categories. This year’s jury comprised industry leaders from 17 countries, including CEOs of advertising agencies, creative directors, and global marketing heads.
A total of 43 Gold medals were awarded in 2026, including 38 in the main competition and five in the Talent Awards, highlighting the scale and competitiveness of the event.
With this recognition, Mathrubhumi reinforces its growing global footprint, driven by culturally rooted storytelling and innovative content platforms.
