Chennai: Karthik Nagarajan, Chief Executive Officer of WPP Production India (formerly Hogarth), has announced that he will be moving on from the company after leading the business for three-and-a-half years.
Nagarajan shared the development in a LinkedIn post, describing his tenure as one of the most rewarding and transformative phases of his career.
“After a most fulfilling 3.5 years as India CEO of WPP Production (formerly Hogarth), I will be moving on, to pursue new challenges,” he wrote.
Reflecting on his journey, Nagarajan credited the organisation’s people for the progress made during his leadership.
“This has been one of the most transformational phases of my professional journey and I attribute ALL of it to the extraordinary team that I had the privilege of calling as colleagues. They are absolute magicians at the confluence of craft and technology and they are barely getting started!” he said.
He also expressed pride in the culture and business built during his tenure and acknowledged the leaders who encouraged him to take on the role.
“I am really proud of what we have built in these four years, both as a culture and as a business. Eternally thankful to CVL Srinivas and Tushar Vyas who nudged me in this direction many years back,” Nagarajan added.
Nagarajan took charge as India CEO of Hogarth in January 2023, later leading the organisation through its transition to WPP Production India. Under his leadership, the business underwent a significant transformation, repositioning itself around artificial intelligence while strengthening its capabilities as a content and production partner for clients. During this period, the company tripled its size in just three years, expanding both its scale and service offerings.
A media and marketing industry veteran, Nagarajan has built an extensive career across digital transformation, media, content and consumer insights.
Before leading WPP Production India, he held multiple leadership roles within GroupM, where he was instrumental in establishing the company’s social media practice and digital insights practice. He also served as Chief Content Officer at Wavemaker India and headed GroupM’s branded content initiatives, driving content-led marketing solutions for brands.
Earlier in his career, Nagarajan headed Nielsen’s online division and served as Country Head of NM Incite, the joint venture between Nielsen and McKinsey & Company, where he focused on digital intelligence and consumer insights.
Beyond his executive responsibilities, Nagarajan is actively involved in the broader marketing and technology ecosystem. He serves as an Industry Council Member at the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies, is a Board Member at I-COM Global, the international association that helps organisations accelerate customer-centric and smart data-driven business transformation, and is also a podcast host.
