New Delhi: The Mahindra Group has appointed Purnima Lamba as its Chief Brand Officer, with the appointment set to take effect from September 1, 2026.
In her new role, Lamba will lead the Group’s overall brand and communications mandate, focusing on shaping Mahindra’s corporate identity and strengthening a unified brand narrative across its diverse businesses. She will also drive brand strategy initiatives spanning traditional, digital and emerging media platforms.
Announcing the appointment, Anish Shah said the company was delighted to onboard a leader with deep global expertise in brand building and consumer engagement.
He noted that Lamba’s combination of strategic vision, creativity and consumer understanding would play a crucial role in enhancing the Mahindra brand as the Group continues to align its storytelling with its long-term business ambitions and core values.
Lamba joins Mahindra after a nearly 25-year stint at Unilever, where she held several leadership positions across markets including India, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. During her tenure, she worked extensively on brand transformation, digital-first marketing initiatives and technology-enabled beauty experiences.
An alumna of the London School of Economics and Political Science, Lamba holds both a BSc and MSc in Management.
