Mumbai: Truecaller has announced the appointment of Sandeep Bhushan to its Board of Directors, as the company looks to strengthen its monetisation strategy and expand its global communications ecosystem.
Bhushan brings more than 25 years of experience across consumer technology, digital advertising, media and business strategy. Most recently, he served as India Director of Global Marketing Solutions at Meta, where he led a multi-billion-dollar business and played a key role in expanding digital participation across India.
Prior to Meta, Bhushan held leadership roles at Samsung, overseeing marketing and operator partnerships for the company’s smartphone business. He was also a founding member and Chief Operating Officer of Mint, contributing to the growth of one of India’s leading business media platforms. Earlier in his career, he worked with Unilever for over a decade.
According to the company, Bhushan’s appointment comes at a time when Truecaller is actively shifting its advertising business from traditional programmatic display advertising towards a diversified B2B SaaS and premium rich-media model. The strategy is aimed at strengthening direct business relationships while reducing dependence on third-party ad networks.
Truecaller currently serves more than 500 million active users globally and has been expanding its advertising and enterprise verification businesses across markets including India, the Middle East and Latin America.
Commenting on his appointment, Sandeep Bhushan said, “Truecaller has built a powerful platform at global scale, where trust and monetisation must evolve together. As digital ecosystems mature, getting this balance right becomes a key differentiator. I look forward to engaging with the Board and management team to help shape the next phase of the company’s continued growth journey.”

Nami Zarringhalam, Co-founder of Truecaller, said, “Sandeep’s appointment to the Board marks an important addition. His strong background in scaling monetisation and consumer franchises across top global platforms will bring valuable perspective to our journey, along with a strong understanding of high-growth markets like India and APAC. His experience will be invaluable as we continue to scale our multiple revenue streams.”
Bhushan is currently also a board member at Traya Health. The company stated that he holds no shares in Truecaller and will serve as an independent board member.
