Mumbai: Rupen Thakkar has been promoted as Vice President and Head Counsel – Networks, StudioNext and Corporate at Sony Pictures Networks India.
Announcing the development on LinkedIn, Rupen Thakkar said, “I am thrilled to step into my new role as Vice President and Head Counsel – Networks (Television and Sony Sports Network), StudioNext and Corporate at Sony Pictures Networks India! Thakkar has been associated with Sony Pictures Networks India for more than three years, during which he handled multiple legal leadership responsibilities across network channels production, StudioNext, sports television and corporate legal functions. Prior to this promotion, he served as Senior Lead Counsel – Sports Television and Corporate.
Before joining Sony Pictures Networks India, Thakkar worked with Unacademy as AVP Legal. He also held legal leadership positions at Zee Entertainment Enterprises, overseeing legal matters for television and ZEE5.
Over the course of his career, he has also been associated with IndiaCast Media, Sahara India, Nimbus Communications and Overseas Infrastructure Alliance.
