Chennai : The Celebrity couples Amala Akkineni and Akkineni Nagarjuna are nowadays competing with each other on their Television commitments.
While Nagarjuna is busy hosting the Telugu Version of KBC ”Meelo Eavru Koteeswarudu” (MEK) for Maa TV. His better half Amala is marking her Television entry through a Tamil Daily serial titled “Uyirmei”
Amala is busy shooting in Chennai and She plays the role of a doctor in ”Uyirmei” and it deals with the lives of 12 doctors, their families and their profession.
While speaking to media Amala said “I am happy to be part of this serial, since it is an interesting one” She added that ”Tamil people love her a lot and she loves Chennai and Tamil Nadu” and “It is like my second home”
”Uyirmei” is scheduled to commence on ”Zee Tamil” from 18th August Onwards in its Prime Time slot @ 8PM (Monday to Friday) and the industry sources state that the channel is spending huge on production to make sure that the standard of the show is on par with films.
The Channel has planned for an extensive Promotion activity through Various Outdoor and other Mediums apart from the channel Promos.
