Ad volumes surge by two folds on Television in May’22: TAM Report

According to TAM AdEx-Report on Television, overall ad volumes grew by 73 pc and 2 Times during May’21 and May’22 respectively compared to May’20. All weeks in May’22 witnessed ad volume growth compared to the average of same week in May’21.

In May’21-22, the total number of categories, advertisers and brands increased steadily compared to May 20.

Among the Top 10 categories on TV, Toilet Soaps and Toilet/Floor Cleaners maintained top 2 positions during May’22.In January of this year, three new categories entered the Top 10 list, Aerated Soft Drink, Tea and Retail Outlets-Jewellers.

In the Top growing categories on TV, Retail Outlets-Jewellers category saw highest surge in terms of Ad Volumes with growth of 12 Times followed by Paints with 7.4 Times growth during May’22 compared to May’21.190+ growing categories present in May’22.

Reckitt Benckiser, HUL and Brooke Bond Lipton were the Top 3 advertisers among Top 10 on TV during both May’22 and May’21. Four out of 10 categories saw positive rank shift in May’22 over May’21.Top 10 advertisers had 35 pc share of Ad Volumes during May’22.

Among the Top 10 Brands on TV, Lizol All in 1 was the top brand during May’22 followed by Dettol Intense Cool Soap. Total 3.8 K+ brands appeared on TV during May’22.The Top 10 brands had 10 pc share of Ad Volumes among which seven belonged to Reckitt Benckiser.

Among Top 10 Exclusive Categories, Advertisers and Brands on TV, Bicycles topped among the categories followed by Amusement Parks in May’22 compared to May’21. Myntra Designs was the top advertiser followed by Fashnear Technologies. Lizol All in 1 topped among the brands followed by Myntra.Com.
