Adidas and BCCI reveal new Team India ODI jersey with the Indian women’s cricket team

Mumbai: In a groundbreaking moment for Indian cricket, adidas, the official kit sponsor of the Indian cricket team, has unveiled the new ODI jersey for both the Men’s and Women’s Cricket Teams. This marks the second year of adidas’ partnership with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and for the first time in history, the jersey was revealed alongside the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, underscoring the brand’s commitment to empowering women in sports.

The new jersey features a striking true-blue color body with tricolour ombre sleeves, a bold design celebrating India’s national pride and spirit. The jersey will make its debut on-field during the India versus West Indies bilateral series, which begins on December 22, 2024, with the Women’s Cricket Team. The India Men’s Cricket Team will then wear the jersey during the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy tournament in early 2025.

For the first time ever, the Indian Women’s Cricket Team has been part of the launch event, reinforcing adidas’ ongoing support for women in sports. The unveiling, which took place at the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai, was a landmark event that celebrates the evolution of women’s cricket in India.

Neelendra Singh, GM, adidas India, commented, “Our partnership with the BCCI is one that we take great pride in and we are excited for this historic moment as we progress into the second year of this collaboration. At adidas, we’ve always been strong allies for women in sports. The launch of the all-new ODI jersey with the India women’s team is a testament to our unwavering support for women in sport. Together with the BCCI, we’re proud to make strides in empowering athletes across all levels with state-of-the-art gear that enhances their performance and passion.”

Designed to meet the rigorous demands of international cricket, the new ODI jersey is crafted with cutting-edge technology. The jacquard base fabric features a terry loop pattern, ensuring comfort during long matches, while Climacool+ technology aids in rapid sweat absorption. The jersey’s cut & sew details enhance durability, and for the first time, it is made with 100% recycled material, reflecting adidas’ commitment to sustainability.

Jay Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, stated, “Women’s cricket in India has reached remarkable milestones, and at BCCI, we remain steadfast in our commitment to fostering equity for women in the sport. The unveiling of the new ODI jersey by the India women’s team, in collaboration with adidas, highlights not just the best-in-class performance gear but also a shared vision to empower athletes and inspire the nation. Together, we are setting new benchmarks in cricket excellence.”

Harmanpreet Kaur, Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, expressed her pride in the jersey reveal, saying, “Unveiling the new ODI jersey as the captain of the Indian Women’s team is a moment of immense pride for me and my team. This jersey is not just a uniform; it’s a symbol of how far women’s cricket in India has come and the recognition it continues to earn. With adidas’s dedication to state-of-the-art performance gear, this jersey empowers us to play our best and represent our country with pride.”

The new Team India ODI jerseys will be available for fans starting December 2, 2024, at two price points: the authentic match jersey for INR 5999 and the fan jersey for INR 999. Fans can purchase the jerseys at select adidas stores or through the adidas website: adidas.co.in/cricket.
