Trivandram : Awards are always special and ‘Amrita Film Awards’ is all about celebrating the universality of ever-winning talents. The 10th season of ‘Amrita Film Awards’, which is one of the prestigious film awards in the realm of Malayalam cinema, was presented on December 20th, 2014 at a glittering award nite ceremony conducted at Swapna Nagari Ground in Kozhikode.
The snowy night of December witnessed the grand spectacle which was embellished with presence of the awardees like super star Mohanlal (best male actor for Drishyam), Amala Paul (best female actor) Jeethu Joseph (best director) etc. and the unbelievably vibrant performances of some of the super stars of Indian artistic panorama. Other awardees include Gopi Sundar, Rafeeq Ahmed, Asha Sarath, Fahad Fazil, Nivin Pauly, Jayasurya, Shewtha Menon, Ann Augustine, Sheela and Nazriya.
The musical extravaganza was led by none other than Shankar Mahadevan who brought the viewers to unbelievably breathtaking heights of heavenly music. Malayalee’s own Rimi Tomy joined him along with Calicut’s Thej Orchestra.
Stunning performances of celebrity dancers from Bollywood/Kollywood, Kainaat Arora and Pia Bajpai added to the show and Special Act artistic groups- Illuminati from Mumbai and Quick Angels from Goa unveiled their magical performances on the special occasion. Eye-catching moves of actor-dancer Shamna Kasim and choreographer Sajna Najam & team were another attraction.
Like the previous seasons, the gala event draw fabled guests from all walks of life and the star-studded show became yet another unforgettable artistic extravaganza to Malayalees.
Amrita Film Awards 2014 will be aired on Amrita TV on this Saturday and Sunday – January 10th and 11th from 7 PM onwards.
