New Delhi: Aviva India, one of India’s leading private life insurance companies, has announced the appointment of Rajesh Shankar Dhane as its Chief Legal and Compliance Officer.
Rajesh brings over two decades of experience across the insurance and financial services sector, with deep expertise in legal strategy, regulatory affairs, compliance, litigation management, and corporate governance. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles at leading insurance organisations including SBI General Insurance, Tata AIG Life Insurance, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, HDFC ERGO General Insurance, and most recently ACKO General Insurance.
In his new role, Rajesh will head Aviva India’s legal and compliance function, strengthen governance frameworks, manage legal and regulatory risks, and support the company’s strategic growth priorities, while fostering a strong culture of ethics and compliance across the organisation.

Rajesh is widely regarded for building high-performing legal teams and for working closely with business and regulatory stakeholders to deliver pragmatic and robust legal solutions. He holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Mumbai.
