Brands Celebrating Women’s Day through their Innovative Campaign ideas

As Women’s day is arriving soon all the brands have come up with their unique campaign ideas.  Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. So, through these campaigns brands have shown their respect towards all women. Here are a few of the campaigns by different brands.

Mitron TV: This Women’s Day, Mitron, India’s leading short-format video app, has launched a campaign to urge one and all to celebrate women heroes in their lives. The campaign ‘#SuperWoman’, which will run until 8th March 2021, pays tribute to the tireless efforts of women and lauds the rapid strides that they have taken when it comes to burning the candle at both ends professionally and personally. With #WomanPower, Mitron invites users to celebrate gender equality and the power of women. Under this hashtag, Mitron has launched an original song that highlights equality and showcases the tremendous influence exerted by a woman.

JSW Group:

JSW Group has joined hands with the curators of Corona Quilt Project DiaMehhtaBhupal& Neha Modi to launch the unique art initiative in Mumbai on International Women’s Day March 8, 2021. The Corona Quilt Project comprises multiple, large-scale quilts made of upcycled material that weave individual experiences of the coronavirus pandemic of more than 12,000 Indians together creatively interpreted on a collective art canvas. The first Corona Quilt will be unveiled at Jindal Mansion in Mumbai followed by 8 other prominent locations across the city. Tarini Jindal Handa at JSW Group has conceived the corona quilt project to be hosted at Jindal Mansion.

This community art Corona Quilt Project is based on the theme “Rise”. It presents a diversity of experiences, celebrating the strength and the resilience of Indian citizens across various social strata. It is a collection of 12,000 individual experiences woven together creatively as a collective expression of the coronavirus pandemic in the form of multiple large-scale creative quilts.

Glad U Came:

To mark International Women’s Day, Glad U Came alongside Open Secret, a Mumbai-based gourmet snack startup celebrates the occasion by launching its #SecretAdmirer campaign. Glad U Came X Open Secret campaign, #SecretAdmirer revolves around women appreciating women who inspired them by their positive spirit. The award-winning PR and Influencer Marketing agency alongside Open Secret aims to create an online space for women showcasing gratitude towards other women. The campaign also focuses on women supporting women by showing them true love, respect, and feeling secure.

Pepperfry x Social Panga:

Pepperfry, furniture and home products marketplace launches a striking new digital video campaign – #WowWomaniya, this international Women’s Day. Through this campaign, the brand aims to celebrate the new-age women who tread on lesser traveled paths and make a mark for themselves in diverse fields. Women across the globe are setting new records. They are fearless, feisty, and unabashed; making and embracing choices that are unconventional. In order to salute and support these women, Pepperfry has collaborated with hip hop and rap artist Deepa Unnikrishnan, famously known as Dee MC, for a rap-based digital campaign. Conceptualized by Social Panga, the digital video showcases women from different fields – a writer, a fitness influencer, and a rapper (Dee MC). The rap song in the background brings alive the grit of these women. For instance, how the writer is making history with her pen; how the fitness influencer is hustling and challenging her physical limits; and how the artist can rap to any beat. Each of them reflecting that a woman’s strength and capabilities are limitless.

WIN: on the occasion of women’s day Win is collaborating with prestigious institutions such as American School and brands such as Kiehls and Gaurav Electricals. The Kiehl’s panel discussion will be held on 4th March at 4 pm with panelists such as SimritaDhillion- founder of Sanda, Kanishka Malhotra-actress, filmmaker, entrepreneur, and influencer, Mansi Srivastava-Indian Television actress and Shikhee Agarwal-AVP, Kielhs along with Stuti Jalan-Founder, Women Inspiring Network.

The Desh ka Gaurav panel discussion on the 2nd of March will consist of Rashi Mal-actor-dancer and singer, Prachi Trehlan-sports person, actor and entrepreneur, Avriti Jain- founder of Dhara and TeotroDhara, NainaRuhail- co-founder of Vanity Wagon along with Stuti Jalan. They are also hosting an Instagram activity called the WIN challenge, where people talk about the women who inspire them. Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network (DWEN) has brought women entrepreneurs together from around the world to help them connect with each other, scale their businesses, and ultimately succeed. Stuti Jalan founder WIN also collaborated with DWEN which helps women entrepreneurs connect with each other from around the world.

Bombay Shaving Company:

Bombay Shaving Company has been at the forefront of building on this narrative and driving more awareness for the voices of women. As a brand that believes in building a tribe of powerful women who are driven by their mission and passion, they found an amazing partner in Shriya Pilgaonkar.

Shriya is the face for the latest campaign from Bombay Shaving Company – #FlexYourAwesome. Shriya is an actor, an advocate for women’s rights, a dancer, and a creative thinker. Her expanse of work goes across genres and languages. #FlexYourAwesome encourages women to assert their might, strength, and achievement. Through the #FlexYourAwesome campaign, Bombay Shaving Company is celebrating women by bringing stories of those who have been awesome and unstoppable in their lives. The aim is to empower women to actively break down stereotypes and remind themselves to not be afraid to choose their own unique path.

Central:

Central, along with their agency NDMPL, an established digital and influencer marketing agency, has released an interesting campaign #WomenWearItBetter this Women’s Day. The campaign consists of an immersive web series told through Instagram stories via a fresh Instagram account, Women Wear it Better!

The campaign gets its name from the insight that women are superior when it comes to gauging a situation, accepting challenges, fulfilling dreams, and achieving aspirations with confidence, sass, and style.

The story of this web series breaks the perceptions and myths faced by women; like ‘Women don’t get along with each other’, ‘A woman doesn’t like it when another woman is wearing an outfit similar to hers’, ‘a group of women is more chaos, less result’, and many more.

Max Fashion:

Womanhood is a beautiful journey that often fleets by and Max Fashion aims to celebrate the important role women play with its “#YouAreSoBeautifull” initiative. Commencing the campaign with a fresh slice-of-life video and on-ground workshops, they are tipping their hat to women for the dynamic roles they play in our society. Max Fashion celebrates the layers of delicacy that lie in the journey of womanhood beyond the traditional definition of beauty. They recognize that a woman is beautiful as she is, in her everyday life…for what she is! With an optimistic, appreciative narrative, this initiative compliments every woman for being #BeautiFULL.Envisaged by DViO Digital, the tentpole of the campaign is heart-warming poetry with a tastefully shot video capturing little moments, often unnoticed, that make the everyday woman what she is.

Apart from the brands, there are few web series that has also shown the power of women in their characters like,

Girl gang from ‘Four More Shots Please!’ 

The sassy girl gang: Siddhi (ManviGagroo), Umang (Bani J), Damini (Sayani Gupta), and Anjana (Kirti Kulhari) have won over our hearts with their classy fashion sense, true and understanding friendship, crazy bonding, and lots of drama. “Four More Shots Please!” is a story of four unapologetically flawed women from different walks of life dealing with romance, work-life conflicts, ambitions, and anxieties in modern-day India.

Sumukhi Suresh from ‘Pushpavalli’

Sumukhi Suresh is nothing less than a wonder woman. She is not just an actor but also a comedian, a writer, and a director.  Gone are the days when stand-up comedy shows were dominated by men. Today, Sumukhi has carved a niche for herself and has emerged as one of the successful female stand-up comedians. In 2020, she made an exciting comeback with her sitcom Pushpavalli Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video which bagged her “Best Actress in a Comedy Series (Critics)” at the 2020 Flyx Filmfare OTT Awards.

Women fighter pilots

Women have broken several barriers by becoming fighter pilot themselves. A two-part series on Avani Chaturvedi, Bhawana Kanth, and Mohana Singh broke the glass ceiling, defied all odds, and became the first three female fighter pilots. Defying the gender norms in ‘Kaatelal& Sons’

Stereotyped gender roles are deeply rooted in peoples’ mindsets in our society. Kaatelal& Sons aim to spearhead a change by making people believe that ‘Sapno ka Koi Gender NahiHota’. This Sony SAB show is a fascinating tale of two sisters who challenge societal norms and face hardships head-on. Kirti Kulhari in ‘Criminal Justice- Behind Closed Doors’

As the name itself suggests, a lot of topics are preferred to be brought up behind shut doors in the form of whispers, or even swept under the rug. Criminal Justice- Behind Closed Doors takes on such topics, and brings them forth to the world, in an attempt to make it less taboo. Kirti Kulhari plays the role of Anuradha Chandra, a woman who’s defending her integrity against the world. The film proved to be the much-needed stop for your thrill-seeking spirits with its nail-biter storyline, and some plot twists that you never saw coming!

Shruthi Hariharan from Vadham

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Tasa Media, the exhilarating drama series is centred on Sakthi Pandian, essayed by Shruthi Hariharan, a young and honest female police inspector who is assigned to an all-women’s police station and is determined to solve the murder of an influential politician’s close aide. The film authentically describes the life of a working woman, especially one who is in a challenging job like that of a Police Inspector and the problems she faces while balancing her two lives.
