Mumbai: Capgemini today announced a leadership transition in India. After completing seven years as CEO of Capgemini in India, Ashwin Yardi will retire from the Group and take on the role of Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Capgemini in India, effective January 1, 2026. Sanjay Chalke, currently India Chief Operating Officer (COO), will become the CEO of Capgemini in India from the same date, and will also join the Group Executive Committee.
As Non-Executive Chairman, Ashwin Yardi will focus on nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and supporting Sanjay in the transition. Sanjay will continue to reinforce Capgemini in India as a strategic backbone for client delivery excellence, talent, and innovation.

Ashwin has been the CEO of Capgemini in India and a member of the Group Executive Committee since December 2018. Prior to this, he served as COO of Capgemini in India, managing operations, delivery, capability development, and innovation. Over his 30-year career, he has held several leadership roles driving growth and profitability across business units and worked extensively with Fortune 500 companies to support their transformation goals. Ashwin’s international experience spans North and South America, the Netherlands, Australia, and Asia, with strong expertise in Digital, Big Data, and automation platforms.
Sanjay Chalke, CEO of Capgemini in India and Member of the Group Executive Committee (effective January 1, 2026)
Before his appointment as CEO, Sanjay served as COO of Capgemini in India, where he led transformation programs focused on operational excellence, talent acquisition, delivery assurance, and business growth. He has also been a member of the India Country Board (ICB). Earlier, as Executive Vice President and Head of Sogeti India at Capgemini, Sanjay drove strategic initiatives to elevate business performance and talent transformation. Prior to Capgemini, he led the Global SAP Business at DXC Technologies (formerly CSC), managing cross-functional global teams for key clients.
