Colors Tamil, Viacom18’s Tamil entertainment channel, is all set to air four movies back-to-back on Father’s Day, starting with Sabhaapathy at 1 PM, followed by 60 Vayadu Maaniram at 3:30 PM, Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal at 6:30 pm, and College Kumar at 9:30 PM.
Directed by R Srinivasa Rao, Sabhaapathy is a film about a young man named Sabhaapathy who struggles with a speech disorder and lacks confidence due to constant insults, including from his own father. While searching for a job, he accidentally comes across a suitcase filled with money that belongs to a corrupt politician, turning his life upside down. The story explores Sabhaapathy’s journey of overcoming his handicap, winning over his father, and trying to express his love for his childhood friend Savithri.
60 Vayadu Maaniram portrays the emotional bond between a father and son. Siva, an ambitious software engineer, leaves his father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, in an old age home to pursue his dream job abroad. However, a mix-up at the home leads to his father going missing and getting involved in a murder scenario with a gangster named Ranga. Unexpectedly, Ranga develops a bond with Siva’s father and becomes an ally. As Siva searches for his father, he receives help from a psychiatrist named Dr. Archana. The film, directed by Radha Mohan, explores the father-son relationship and offers uplifting music by Ilayaraaja.
Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal tells the story of four individuals whose lives intertwine after an incident. The angry young son, the disgruntled room attendant, the upcoming actor, and the egoistic IT employee go through a life-changing journey. The father of the angry young man is responsible for a car accident, which affects the lives of Praveen, an IT professional, and Abi Hassan, an aspiring actor. The film explores the impact of the accident on these four characters with their own issues and worries.
College Kumar is a remake of a Kannada movie and revolves around the dreams of Thirumurugan, a peon who aspires to make his son a successful auditor after facing insults from his boss. However, Thirumurugan’s son, Shiva Kumar, is expelled from college due to allegations of malpractice. The story follows Thirumurugan’s determination to fulfill his desire for his son’s success. The film features an ensemble cast, including Prabhu, Madhoo, and Nasser.
