COTT Week 43:​ Mirzapur Season 2​ makes it to the top show across all platforms with​ 119.84 Million​ unique viewers

Mumbai: The OTT platform in India is growing in a full speed. On the 43 week of OTT platform Mirzapur Season 2 topped on the most watched series on Amazon prime with a huge viewership of 119.84 Million. After the release of Mirzapur season 2 there was a lot of hype on social media and on other platform, fan waited for season 2 to come from last two years and when it was released this year it gained the viewership on OTT platform.

The ChromeDM, a primary data research agency has shared the data on top shows in each category where Mirzapur season 2 was on the first place, scam 1992 The Harshad Mehta story got the second place with 64,462,288 viewers, High was on third place with 45,951,144 viewers and the fourth position was taken by Love kapanga -emotion ka Danga with 39,737,309 viewership series like Hostage 2, Aasharam, Dangerous also topped the bar in viewership.

On the 43-week Mirzapur not only topped in gaining the viewership but Mirzapur Season 2 was also on the top binged with 116.52 Million unique viewers translating to a reach of 20.30%. binged watching is nothing but watching multiple episodes in one go. Scam 1992 had 8.88% of binged where as High had 3.3% and again the fourth position was taken by Love ka panga- emotion kadanga with 2.08%.

The reach of Amazon Prime witnessed a growth from 2.33% in Week 42 to 2.40% in Week 43 and was in the top 5 platforms in Week 43 post the success of Mirzapur Season 2 which was released on 23rd Oct in Week 42. But Disney Hotstar was the one which topped on the first position with 14.52% on the OTT platform, Mx media player was on the second place with 10.34%, Sony live came on the third place with 16,12% and voot came on the fourth position with 5.4%.

Expressing his views in COTT data for Week 43, Pankaj Krishna, Founder & CEO, Chrome DM said, “Unlike most other forms of content, season 2 here seems to be doing even better than the first, both in terms of reach and in terms of viewer affinity… In the case of Mirzapur…., this is a rare trend as big shows come with their own set expectations”
