Dettol joins NDTV to launch 11th Season of Banega Swasth India initiative

Mumbai: Dettol and NDTV have officially launched the 11th season of their flagship campaign, Banega Swasth India, on October 2, 2024. This initiative, which began a decade ago, has transformed millions of lives across the country.

Banega Swasth India started as a small spark in 2014, aimed at making hygiene and health a priority in every Indian household. Today, it has evolved into a movement that touches every corner of India, fostering a healthier and cleaner environment. The new season’s theme, “One World Hygiene,” emphasizes that local solutions are crucial for tackling global hygiene challenges.

Since its inception, Banega Swasth India has reached over 24 million children and has garnered support from influential figures, including Prime Ministers and Nobel laureates. The campaign has significantly altered community perceptions of hygiene and health, reinforcing the belief that small actions can lead to significant change.

The launch event on October 2 not only celebrated past achievements but also set a forward-looking agenda. This year’s theme encourages individuals to take ownership of their community’s health. The gathering featured thought leaders and health advocates sharing stories of local actions creating widespread change.

Gaurav Jain, Executive Vice President at Reckitt South Asia, stated, “At Reckitt, we are immensely proud of Dettol Banega Swasth India. As we step into the 11th year, our mission is to expand that impact globally.” 

Sanjay Pugalia, Editor-in-Chief of NDTV Network, added, “Our long-standing association with Dettol has made Banega Swasth India one of the most impactful health campaigns in the country. As we enter the 11th season, we aim to address new challenges with the same dedication and passion.”

Over the past decade, Banega Swasth India has undertaken various initiatives, including personalized movements and outreach programs. Notable themes from previous seasons include “Lakshya Sampoorn Swasthya Ka,” which focused on marginalized communities, and “Dus Ka Dum,” celebrating the campaign’s 10-year journey.

As the campaign embarks on its 11th season, the focus shifts to local engagement, emphasizing that communities play a vital role in addressing global health issues. Banega Swasth India invites every Indian to contribute to a healthier future, showcasing that collective action can lead to lasting change.
