Mumbai: Meta has appointed Dina Powell McCormick as its new President and Vice Chairman, strengthening its leadership bench as the company accelerates investments in artificial intelligence, infrastructure, and long-term capital strategy.
McCormick, who has been serving on Meta’s Board of Directors, will now join the company’s management team, playing a central role in shaping Meta’s corporate strategy and operational execution. Her appointment comes at a time when the tech giant is committing multi-billion-dollar capital to computing infrastructure and advanced AI systems, including its push toward personal superintelligence.
In her new role, McCormick will work closely with Meta’s compute and infrastructure leadership to ensure these large-scale investments are aligned with the company’s long-term objectives while also delivering economic benefits in markets where Meta operates. She will also spearhead the development of new strategic capital partnerships and explore innovative funding models to expand Meta’s investment capacity over the coming years.
Announcing the appointment, Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted McCormick’s global experience and financial leadership. He said her background in international finance and her relationships across governments and capital markets make her particularly well suited to help Meta navigate its next stage of growth.
McCormick brings more than 25 years of experience across global finance, public policy, and economic development. She spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs, where she was a partner and a member of the firm’s Management Committee, and led its Global Sovereign Investment Banking business. During her tenure, she played a key role in launching and scaling major economic development platforms such as 10,000 Women, 10,000 Small Businesses, and One Million Black Women—initiatives designed to expand access to capital and drive long-term economic opportunity.
Beyond Wall Street, McCormick has held senior roles in the US government, serving two presidents. She was Deputy National Security Advisor under President Donald J. Trump and earlier worked as a Senior White House Advisor and Assistant Secretary of State under President George W. Bush, reporting to then Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Prior to joining Meta full-time, she was Vice Chair, President, and Head of Global Client Services at BDT & MSD Partners, a merchant bank that advises family-owned and founder-led businesses.
With McCormick moving into a top leadership role, Meta is signaling that its next chapter will be defined not just by product innovation, but by financial scale, global partnerships, and the long-term capital strategy needed to support the company’s rapidly expanding AI ambitions.
