Tirupati: Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital has launched the ‘Gift Her Clear Vision’ campaign, a nationwide initiative aimed at providing free eye check-ups and consultations to one million women through its network of 280+ eye hospitals and vision care centres across India. The campaign has been introduced in commemoration of International Women’s Day and will offer exclusive outpatient consultation access for women throughout the month.
The initiative addresses a critical healthcare gap, as many women in India often prioritise caregiving and family responsibilities over their own health, increasing their risk of preventable vision loss. Through the campaign, the hospital network is encouraging individuals across the country to pledge an eye examination for the important women in their lives.
Participants can take part digitally by completing a 30-second pledge form available on the campaign website or by calling the hospital’s helpline to nominate a woman for a free eye check-up. Once a nomination is submitted, the hospital team will contact the nominated individual and schedule a priority appointment for a free eye examination at the nearest centre between March 8 and March 31, 2026.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr Ashvin Agarwal, Chief Clinical Officer and Senior Ophthalmologist at Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, said, “Studies show women have 35% higher odds of blindness and significantly lower access to cataract surgery, while a large population of women remain at risk of preventable vision loss each year due to caregiving responsibilities, cultural influences, and economic barriers often prevent them from seeking timely vision care.”
Adding further insight, Dr Daggula Devi Bharathi, Consultant Ophthalmologist at Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, Tirupati, said, “Through this campaign, we are offering free comprehensive eye examinations and clinical consultations for women nationwide. Early and regular eye check-ups play a crucial role in preventing avoidable vision impairment, enabling timely diagnosis and ensuring the right treatment at the right time.”
As part of the campaign rollout, the hospital network has designated priority consultation hours for women on both weekdays and weekends across its centres. During these dedicated hours, ophthalmologists will be available to ensure comfortable and focused consultations. Nominated women will also benefit from expedited check-ins and access to private consultation spaces on Sundays.
With coordinated implementation across its nationwide network, the ‘Gift Her Clear Vision’ campaign aims to strengthen awareness around preventive eye care for women and encourage more individuals to prioritise timely vision screenings.
