Mumbai: JioStar has elevated Dr Bagyalakshmi Nagarajan to the role of Senior Vice President – Entertainment Sales, strengthening its leadership as the company sharpens its focus on innovation-led monetisation across platforms.
In her new role, Dr Nagarajan will spearhead Ad Product Innovations and Strategic Partnerships, with a mandate to build new and sustainable revenue streams across JioStar’s entertainment portfolio across India, and she will be based in Mumbai. The elevation reflects the company’s growing emphasis on integrated advertising solutions that blend television, digital, and emerging formats for brand partners.
Before this appointment, Dr Nagarajan served as Executive Director – Mid Market FMCG India & India Inbound International from November 2024. In that role, she led revenue monetisation across both TV and digital platforms for domestic and international clients. Her responsibilities included planning and executing large network deals on television while actively evangelising digital solutions to create long-term, high-value partnerships that drove business growth.
A seasoned media and advertising professional, Dr Nagarajan has been associated with Star India since 2011. It is her second stint, and she has worked across all the network’s locations. Dr Bagyalakshmi has held multiple leadership roles across revenue generation, IT, brand solutions and International business with JioStar. Over more than two decades, she has played a pivotal role in shaping monetisation strategies, client relationships, and integrated sales solutions in an evolving media landscape. She has worked across multiple sectors & mediums of hospitality, IT, print, Television, out-of-home, and Digital.
Beyond her corporate leadership, Dr Nagarajan is also an author. She has published an e-book, The Abundance Alchemy: Embracing the 4 Essentials: Relationships, Wealth, Health, and Time, a book that explores holistic success across personal and professional dimensions and is available on Amazon. She was conferred an Honorary Doctorate in November 2023 by NIER and National American University, Delaware, USA, for her work in media.
Her elevation comes at a time when media companies are increasingly looking to unlock value through innovation, partnerships, and cross-platform storytelling—areas where Dr Nagarajan brings deep experience and strategic insight.
