Mumbai: JioHotstar is set to ignite screens with the exclusive digital premiere of Empuraan, the high-octane Malayalam action-thriller that picks up where the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer left off. Streaming from April 24, Empuraan marks one of the most anticipated releases in recent Indian cinema, promising a cinematic spectacle that blends power, politics, and pulse-pounding action.
Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and penned by Murali Gopy, the film is jointly produced by Antony Perumbavoor (Aashirvad Cinemas), Gokulam Gopalan (Sree Gokulam Movies), and Subaskaran (Lyca Productions)—a trio of production powerhouses in Indian cinema.
Reprising his iconic role, Mohanlal returns as Stephen Nedumpally, whose shadowy transformation into the enigmatic Khureshi Ab’raam forms the heart of the narrative.
