Mumbai : The multi-film deal between Sanjay Gupta’s White Feather Films and Essel Vision Productions Ltd (EVPL), the creative and production studio of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) marks Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s comeback to Bollywood movie ‘Jazbaa’ which will go on the floor in January 2015.
In a span of three years, Essel Vision has emerged as a state-of-the-art studio that deals with filmmaking, promotions, advertising, distribution and revenue-generating streams. Having built a dynamic portfolio of regional cinema in Marathi and Bengali, it is now venturing into mainstream commercial Hindi cinema.
Nittin Keni (CEO, Essel Vision), who has produced successful films like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and many more in the past, says, “Jazbaa is a great script that is full of emotional texture and develops into a human story. The partnership is a perfect fit for both companies and I believe that together, we will be in a better position to deliver compelling and entertaining content to global audiences.”
Sanjay Gupta is happy about the association between his company White Feather Films and Essel Vision, the production studio of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL). The writer-filmmaker, known for action thrillers like ‘Kaante’, ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’ and ‘Shootout At Wadala’, says, “Having one of the largest Indian television conglomerates backing you is a dream come true for any production house. Also, from doing fast-paced action entertainers, I’m looking forward to making this film as it’s a gripping, yet touching drama.”
