Mumbai: A grocery brand Food Square has announced the appointment of Bhavana Singh as its Chief Marketing Officer, as the company gears up for a major national expansion. Known for its globally sourced and thoughtfully curated merchandise, Food Square is scaling from two flagship stores in Mumbai to multiple new locations across India in the coming year.
The appointment comes at a pivotal time as Indian consumers increasingly seek premium staples, global flavours, and experiential shopping environments. Positioned at the intersection of quality, discovery, and culture, Food Square is poised to tap into this evolving mindset.
Bhavana Singh brings more than 15 years of experience across the US and India, having worked across sectors including fashion, food, wellness, and lifestyle. Most recently, she led marketing at Bombay Shirt Company, where she built the marketing function from the ground up—driving strategy, leading in-house creative teams, and using content to grow both visibility and revenue.
Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at Burson India and Ketchum New York, and holds a Master’s in Corporate Communication from Baruch College, City University of New York.
At Food Square, Singh will oversee brand, marketing, and growth strategy, with an emphasis on creating a culturally sharp and commercially effective marketing engine.
“There’s something magical about stumbling upon an ingredient you didn’t know you needed. Great grocery shopping should spark ideas, not just fill a list. That’s what I want Food Square to deliver: exciting, accessible finds that turn everyday meals into something special,” said Bhavana Singh, Chief Marketing Officer, Food Square.
Her appointment marks a key milestone in Food Square’s vision to build a grocery brand that feels modern, meaningful, and tailored to the evolving tastes of Indian consumers.
