Mumbai: In a significant leadership move, The Wealth Company has appointed Debasish Mohanty as Chief Strategy Officer for its Asset Management arm. A stalwart of the Indian mutual fund industry, Mohanty brings with him over three decades of rich and diverse experience, having held senior leadership roles across UTI, L&T, and HSBC Asset Management Companies.
Mohanty most recently served as President and National Head of Sales at UTI AMC, where he also led key functions including Policy Research, Business, Transformation Projects, Corporate Communication, and Marketing. He has also been an active contributor to the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), serving on multiple working committees including the ARN Committee, Common Platform Committee, and Operations & Compliance Committee.

As an accomplished academic, Mohanty holds an M.Phil in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Securities Law from Government Law College, Mumbai. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Wealth Manager (CWM), and a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). In addition to his domain expertise, he has completed Advanced Management Programs at Kellogg School of Management, ISB Hyderabad, and IIM Ahmedabad.

Mohanty also serves as an Independent Director on the Board of LIC Pension Funds Ltd., which operates under the aegis of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).
