Bengaluru: G. R. Balasubramaniam, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of GRB Dairy Foods Private Limited, has been conferred the Outstanding Dairy Professional Award, 2025 by the Indian Dairy Association (IDA), South Zone, recognising his transformational leadership and lasting contribution to the evolution of India’s modern dairy industry.
The award honours Balasubramaniam’s pivotal role in building GRB Dairy Foods into one of India’s most trusted dairy brands. Over a career spanning more than five decades, his leadership has set benchmarks in quality, integrity, and consumer confidence, firmly establishing GRB as a symbol of purity and trust across Indian and global markets.
Widely regarded as a pioneer in the sector, Balasubramaniam has successfully blended traditional dairy practices with modern enterprise systems, creating a resilient and future-ready organisation. His vision has not only enabled GRB’s sustained growth but has also influenced best practices across the broader dairy ecosystem.
The Outstanding Dairy Professional Award is presented to industry leaders who demonstrate sustained excellence, entrepreneurial foresight, and significant sector-wide impact. Based on recommendations from state chapters, Balasubramaniam was selected from Karnataka for his long-standing commitment to professional excellence, ethical leadership, and industry stewardship.
The award was presented at the Southern Dairy and Food Conclave 2026, held at the Calicut Trade Centre in Kozhikode, Kerala. The conclave, themed “Transforming Dairy and Food Systems for Global Health”, brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academicians, and professionals to discuss the future of food and nutrition systems.
