Growth without quality is unsustainable: Vatsal Bhardwaj, Jabali.ai
Share Share ShareShare

Jabali.ai focusses on building a no-code, low code game development and publishing platform to empower visionaries – creatives, gamers, game designers and developers.

Medianews4u.com caught up with Vatsal Bhardwaj Founder Jabali.ai. He was the former Head of Gaming at Meta India.

He has shaped India’s gaming landscape from both big tech (Meta India) and now as an entrepreneur building Jabali.ai, an AI-powered gaming infrastructure platform. His perspective sits at the intersection of technology, media, and culture.

Q. What inspired you to start Jabali.ai ?

I’ve spent 15 years across Zynga, Storm8, Meta/Oculus and AWS—building games played by billions and tools used by indies to AAA. The pattern was obvious: making games is still too hard and too expensive, yet games are the richest canvas for self‑expression.

Jabali.ai exists to make shipping a game feel like posting a short video—no‑code to first playable, an AI co‑pilot for depth, and publishing without wrestling engines—while preserving each creator’s unique style via model‑agnostic, context‑aware tooling. Games are the greatest form of self-expression and storytelling.

Q. How does Jabali.ai differentiate itself from other AI platforms in the gaming space?

It’s the product of decades of learning (Zynga → Meta/Oculus → AWS) distilled into a web‑based MVP released in May.

We’ve integrated and fine-tuned various leading models frequently—favouring context engineering + distillation to reach similar quality at roughly one‑tenth the cost. We build what’s necessary, integrate the rest.

(1) We help creators make and publish full games (not just assets/NPCs).

(2) We’re LLM‑agnostic and context‑first—we select the best frontier models per task and feed them users design docs, scene graphs and style guides, so outputs aren’t cookie‑cutter.

(3) We work alongside existing tools instead of replacing them fully —so teams keep their workflows and gain an AI co‑authoring layer.

Q. What are the core functionalities of the jabali.ai platform?

Jabali.ai is no‑code to first playable across popular genres; an AI co‑pilot that drafts levels, logic, dialogue and art variants using your project context; and one‑click share to get play‑tests fast.

We also provide an advanced game studio later this month for power users, plus guided tuning (difficulty, pacing, balance) and collaborative projects with versioned prompts/edits. Net effect: far faster prototypes, with human taste in the loop.

Q. How do you plan to support emerging gaming creators in India?

Emerging creators often face challenges like limited resources, lack of access to high-end tools, and difficulty reaching larger audiences. Jabali.ai aims to bridge this gap by offering affordable, easy-to-use AI tools that simplify content creation and workflow management.

Free/low‑cost creation, campus programmes and mentorship, and starter templates so a solo creator can ship a vertical slice in days. We’ll pair that with UPI‑friendly monetisation paths and distribution playbooks, plus creator spotlights to help great projects find their audience. The aim is simple: turn a consumer market into a creator market.

Q. How do you see AI shaping the future of the gaming industry?
AI enables dynamic storytelling, personalised player experiences, and predictive insights that enhance gameplay. Smaller studios and independent creators can now leverage AI to compete with large enterprises, leveling the playing field. AI is moving from assistive to co‑creative: ideation → assets/code → prototyping → personalisation → QA.

Teams get more shots on goal and spend human time on taste and polish. For players, expect adaptive worlds, smarter NPCs, and content that feels made for you, not for the median.

Q. Can you share your vision for jabali.ai in the next 3–5 years?

We envision jabali.ai as the go-to platform for gaming creators worldwide (“YouTube for Gaming”), starting with India.

Be the default creation layer for games and “playable media”: no‑code to first playable on web, with extensions for advanced tools so pros keep their pipeline. Ship one‑click publish and a creator marketplace so thousands of Indian and global creators can monetize exports.

Outcome: millions of creators, billions of shipped experiences, and brands using Jabali to launch interactive worlds in minutes—not months.

Q. How are you leveraging technology to improve player engagement?

Player engagement is central to a game’s success, and AI allows creators to understand and respond to their audience more effectively. Through predictive analytics, AI can identify patterns in player behaviour, suggest personalized experiences, and optimize game mechanics in real time.

Creators can experiment with new features, balance gameplay, and maintain engagement without manually tracking every metric. This leads to a more immersive experience for players and more actionable insights for creators.

Q. How does jabali.ai foster collaboration within gaming teams?

Game development is inherently collaborative, often involving multiple creators across locations. jabali.ai provides shared workspaces, task assignment features, version control, and AI-assisted project management.

This ensures smooth communication, reduces redundant work, and accelerates development cycles. By streamlining collaboration, creators can focus on innovation rather than logistics, resulting in higher-quality outputs and faster go-to-market timelines.

Q. How do you ensure data privacy and security?

Data privacy is a non-negotiable priority. All user and player data on jabali.ai is anonymized and encrypted.

We follow strict compliance protocols and industry best practices to safeguard intellectual property, sensitive user information, and platform integrity. Our users can confidently leverage AI insights without compromising on security, ensuring trust and reliability across the platform.

Q. How do you approach monetization and sustainability for the platform?

Our subscription-based model, complemented by value-added enterprise solutions, aligns our growth with the success of our users.

Sustainability, for us, goes beyond revenue—it’s about creating a platform that remains relevant, ethical, and indispensable. By continually investing in features, support, and community initiatives, we ensure that Jabali.ai evolves alongside the gaming ecosystem it serves.

Q. Can you discuss any partnerships or collaborations that are in the pipeline?

We are exploring collaborations with gaming studios, educational institutions, and content platforms to broaden our reach. These partnerships aim to integrate AI tools into both professional and educational workflows, enabling creators to experiment, learn, and scale effectively.

Additionally, we are in discussions with strategic tech partners to enhance platform capabilities and expand access to AI-driven solutions for creators across India and globally.

Q. How do you ensure that AI enhances creativity rather than replacing it?

AI is designed to augment, not replace, human creativity. Our north star is human‑in‑the‑loop: creators set the stencil (style, rules, taste), AI fills drafts, and humans keep the final say.

Model‑agnostic + project context preserves signature style and avoids AI sameness. We reduce operational burden so teams spend time on taste, narrative, and feel

Q. What impact do you hope jabali.ai will have on the Indian gaming ecosystem?

We aim to empower India’s gaming creators to compete globally, foster innovation, and build sustainable careers. By reducing barriers and providing intelligent tools, jabali.ai enables creators to scale their ideas, gain visibility, and achieve commercial success.

Turn a consumer market into a creator market: low‑friction tools, campus programs, and export‑ready formats so Indian creators ship globally. Expect early breakthroughs in UGC/AI‑coauthored experiences and brand playables, building toward durable studios/IP.

Q. How do you balance rapid growth with maintaining platform quality?

Growth without quality is unsustainable. jabali.ai prioritizes rigorous testing, user feedback, and incremental feature rollouts. Every update is carefully monitored for usability, stability, and impact.

By embedding quality checks into our operations, we ensure that scaling does not compromise the user experience, the reliability of the platform, or the creative freedom of our users.
