Highlights of 62nd Filmfare Awards South for the year 2015

Chennai : The 62nd Filmfare Awards South for the year 2015 was held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai, on Friday, 26 June. The function was graced by some of the big names from South films.

It is an annual event that unities the four South Indian film industries (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada) under a single roof.

The 62nd Filmfare Awards South for the year 2015 has been given in over 40 categories in four languages of South India. It is a glamorous and colourful event where the leading names from South entertains the audience with their performances.

This year, Tamanna Bhatia, Pranitha Subhash, Taapsee Pannu and many other celebs set the stage on fire.

The Broadcast rights of 62nd Filmfare Awards South for the year 2015 is being owned by Vijay TV in Tamil, Maa TV in Telugu, Asianet in Malayalam and Suvarna in Kannada. The channels are likely to telecast the televised event at a later date shortly.

  • Dhanush wins the Best Actor (Male|Tamil) Award for his act in “Velaiyilla Pattathari”.
    Yash wins the Best Actor (Male|Kannada) Award for his performance in “Mr And Mrs Ramachari”.
    Allu Arjun wins the Best Actor (Male|Telugu) Award for his performance in “Race Gurram”.
  • Malavika Nair wins the Best Actor (Female|Tamil) Award for her role in “Cuckcoo”.
    Mammooty wins the Best Actor (Male|Malayalam) Award for his performance in “Varsham”.
  • Shwetha Srivatsav wins the Best Actor (Female|Kannada) Award for her role in “Fair And Lovely”.
    Shruti Haasan wins the Best Actor (Female|Telugu) Award for her role in “Race Gurram”.
  • Nivin Pauly wins the Best Actor Award (Critics) for “1983”
    Manju Warrier wins the Best Actor (Female|Malayalam) Award for her role in “How Old Are You”.
  • Karthi wins the Best Actor (Critics) for “Madras”.
  • Kamal Haasan presents the Lifetime Achievement Award to IV Sasi.
  • The Best Film (Telugu) Award goes to “Manam”. The Best Film (Tamil) Award goes to “Kaththi”.
  • The Best Film (Kannada) Award goes to Mr And Mrs Ramachari. The Best Film (Malayalam) Award goes to “Munnariyippu”.
  • AR Murugadoss wins the Best Director (Tamil) trophy for “Kaththi”.
  • Vikram Kumar wins the Best Director (Telugu) trophy for “Manam”.
  • Rakshit Shetty wins the Best Director (Kannada) Award for “Ulidavaru Kandanthe”.
  • Anjali Menon wins the Best Director (Malayalam) trophy for “Bangalore Days.”
  • The award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male|Tamil) goes to Bobby Simha (“Jigarthanda”)
  • The award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male|Telugu) goes to Jagapathi Babu (“Legend”).
  • The award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male|Kannada) goes to Achyuth Kumar (“Drishya”)
  • The award for Best Actor in a Supporting role (Female|Tamil) goes to Ritwika (“Madras”).
  • The award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male|Malayalam) goes to Jayasurya (“Apothecary”).
  • The award for Best Actor in a Supporting role (Female|Malayalam) goes to Parvathy (“Banglore Days”).
  • The award for Best Actor in a Supporting role (Female|Kannada) goes to Samyuktha Hornadu (“Oggarane”).
  • The award for Best Actor in a Supporting role (Female|Telugu) goes to Lakshmi Manchu (“Chandamama Kathalu”).
  • Veteran actress Radhika is presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • Pradeep Kumar wins the Best Playback Singer (Male|Tamil) Award for “Aagayam Theepidicha” (“Madras”).
  • Simha wins the Best Playback Singer (Male|Telugu) Award for “Cinema Choopista Mama” (“Race Gurram”).
  • Vijay Prakash wins the Best Playback Singer (Male|Kannada) Award for Gaatiya Ilidu (“Ulidavaru Kandante”).
  • Haricharan wins the Best Playback Singer (Male|Malayalam) Award for Ethu Kari Ravilum (“Bangalore Days”).
  • Uthara Unnikrishnan wins the Best Playback Singer (Female|Tamil) Award for “Azhagu” (“Saivam”).
  • Sunita wins the Best Playback Singer (Female|Telugu) Award for “Yem Sandeham Ledu” (“Oohalu Gusagusalade”).
  • Anuradha Bhat wins the Best Playback Singer (Female|Kannada) Award for “Chanana Chanana” (“Ugramm”).
  • Shreya Ghoshal wins the Best Playback Singer (Female|Malayalam) Award for “Vijanatyhayil” (“How Old Are You”) and it is presented by Tamanna Bhatia.
  • Anoop Rubens wins the Best Music (Telugu) Award for “Manam”
  • Anirudh Ravichander wins the Best Music (Tamil) Award for “Velaiyilla Pattathari”.
  • Ajaneesh Loknath wins the Best Music (Kannada) Award for “Ulidavaru Kandanthe”.
  • Gopi Sunder wins the Best Music (Malayalam) Award for Banglore Days
  • Chandrabose wins the Best Lyrics (Telugu) Award for Kanipinchina Maa Ammake (Manam)
  • NA Muthukumar wins the Best Lyrics (Tamil) Award for Azhagu (Saivam).
