New Delhi: Hindustan Zinc Limited, an integrated zinc producer and among the top five global silver producers, successfully wrapped up its presence at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 with its highly engaging ‘Zung Ke Khilaaf Zinc’ awareness campaign.
The campaign, designed to educate citizens on the importance of galvanization in protecting vehicles, infrastructure, and everyday assets from corrosion, attracted more than 1 lakh visitors at the Mining Pavilion. Central to the exhibit was a vintage Priya scooter, split into two halves—one galvanized and the other non-galvanized—effectively illustrating how zinc galvanization prevents rust and ensures durability.
“This year at IITF, our goal was to make the crucial concept of galvanization simple, visual, and profoundly relatable for the public. The ‘Zung Ke Khilaaf Zinc’ activation powerfully demonstrated the importance of corrosion protection, not just in everyday life, but in building our national infrastructure and contributing to Viksit Bharat. The overwhelmingly encouraging response we received reinforces the urgent need for public awareness on galvanization, and we are proud to lead this vital conversation,” said Arun Misra, CEO, Hindustan Zinc.
The showcase also featured on-ground quizzes and conversations about zinc’s role in preventing corrosion, with over 2,000 participants engaging directly with the campaign, offering valuable insights into public awareness of zinc and galvanization.
Commending the initiative, Farida Naik, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines, said, “‘Zung Ke Khilaaf Zinc’ is exactly what public outreach should look like. The activation was brilliant in its clarity, its engagement, and its ability to connect with citizens. It turned a technical concept into a meaningful, impactful lesson that was easily the educational highlight of the Mining Pavilion.”
Beyond galvanization awareness, Hindustan Zinc’s pavilion featured RFID-enabled interactive installations showcasing critical minerals for India’s energy transition, AR/VR mine tours of Rampura Agucha Mine and Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter, and a product zone highlighting Special High Grade Zinc, 99.997% Pure Silver, and EcoZen—Asia’s first low-carbon green zinc. An AI-based photo souvenir gave visitors a memorable takeaway. The pavilion also highlighted flagship social impact programs such as Sakhi and Upaya, reflecting Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to community empowerment and rural livelihoods.
Hindustan Zinc’s IITF 2025 showcase underscores its dedication to advancing India’s Critical Mineral Mission, promoting rust prevention awareness, and advocating for long-lasting, sustainable infrastructure solutions—key contributors to a Viksit Bharat.
