Mumbai: Hitachi India has appointed N Venu as its new Managing Director, effective 2 June 2025, in addition to his current roles as MD & CEO of Hitachi Energy India and Region Head – South Asia. This move follows the elevation of Dr. Bharat Kaushal to Executive Chairman, Hitachi India, effective 1 April 2025.
Venu’s appointment is aligned with Hitachi Group’s Inspire 2027 vision and aims to strengthen synergies across its 28 group companies in India. He will lead the charge in transforming Hitachi into a digital-first enterprise, driving the Lumada business, and enhancing integration between IT and OT (Operational Technology).
Hitachi sees India as a key global hub across sectors like Rail, Energy, Digital, Healthcare, Financial Inclusion, and e-Education. Venu will focus on building strategic partnerships, monetizing the Connected Community, and establishing a high-margin, high-revenue delivery framework.
Welcoming the appointment, Kojin Nakakita, Vice President, Hitachi Ltd., praised Venu’s market expertise. Dr. Kaushal added that Venu’s leadership at Hitachi Energy had already created significant impact and will now further propel Hitachi’s digital and social innovation goals.
Venu said he is “honored” by the opportunity and views India as central to Hitachi’s global growth.
A seasoned industry leader with nearly 40 years of experience, Venu holds an Electrical Engineering degree from NIT Warangal, and credentials from IIM Ahmedabad, ISB Hyderabad, and IMD Switzerland.
