Even a needle in the haystack today is integrated with advanced technology. Everything depends on technology, from how an individual cleans their home to a nation’s security regime. It is impossible to fathom how our universe would have evolved without the advent of technology. Therefore it is no surprise that when it comes to marketing, technology plays an imperative role. 

Those days are long gone when marketing strategies and approaches were limited to creating brochures, publishing advertisements in newspapers and magazines or spreading word of mouth through door-to-door sales. In the current scenario, the possibilities in the marketing landscape are infinite. The digital world embedded with technology has opened doors for commercial or social organisations to grow their reach beyond expectations. 

The marketing world is transforming at a thunderous pace. We have digital marketing, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Search Engine Advertising (SEA), Pay-Per-Click (PPC), Social Media marketing and whatnot to reach the target audience and attain desired results. Simply put, technology has paved the way for the marketing revolution. Every day, a new idea, innovation or approach is being discovered, ensuring that organisations have every arrow in the quiver to deliver the message powerfully. But suppose we eliminate the technology aspect from marketing, will it still give the same results? Absolutely Not!! Because the importance of technology in marketing has reached a must-have level. 

In this context, in this article, we’ll discuss the role of technology in modern marketing. Let’s dive in: 

Voice Assistant: Making it incredibly convenient 

Videos with toddlers asking Alexa and Siri for a new song or task have become fairly popular on social media. And while these short videos are definitely entertaining, they also point toward a larger purpose these AI-enabled voice assistants serve. Research reports have revealed that the global voice assistant application market size is poised to grow from USD 2.8 billion to USD 11.2 billion between 2021 and 2026, at a CAGR of 32.4%. It is sufficient to say that most users rely on voice searches today, and this trend is likely to continue. However, given that voice searches offer fewer results than routine, marketers have to work extra hard by leveraging SEO to fetch effective results. Instead of predicting what a consumer might type, they now focus on keywords used during voice commands. 

Chatbots: Because personalisation is the key

Visit any website today, and a chatbot will be waiting for you. To put it simply, a chatbot is a technology that comprises the use of text, voice and messaging to communicate directly with consumers. Chatbots are AI-based, meaning brands can offer every personalised consumer assistance without increasing staffing. Recent estimates show that around 1.4 billion people are actively using chatbots. These chatbots are remarkably useful for businesses to enhance customer satisfaction by using big data to handle inquiries and grievances. Additionally, all the information customers share with chatbots helps companies analyse their consumer behaviour better and provide improved services. 

Video Marketing: Because visual representation is crucial 

Even with all the information available in the form of blogs, articles and website content, video advertising and material have undoubtedly a significant impact on customers. In fact, consumers are usually more inclined toward consuming video content instead of reading long posts. Therefore, a carefully staged, creative and effective video marketing approach should never be underestimated. A short video advertisement on social media or blog posts can garner far more clicks than average blog posts. In addition, videos tend to remain in a consumer’s recall more than texts. Marketers can leverage the benefits of video marketing by integrating technology and stimulating that unique factor, ensuring that the brand stands out amidst the crowd. 

Making It Count

There’s hardly any corner of modern marketing where technology hasn’t made home. For any business, knowing what the consumers want or need is vital. The answers to these questions can be addressed and assessed by leveraging modern marketing techniques, albeit with the right technology integration. Cloud infrastructure, AI, and data analytics have penetrated the marketing world, and more futuristic technologies are making their way at a rapid pace. If you are a marketer or a business owner, take note of the latest marketing technologies and trends because advanced digital marketing technologies are the future of it all.
