Mumbai: The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup India 2025 has started with a bang, smashing viewership records across digital and linear platforms. The first 13 matches have drawn over 60 million viewers, a five-fold increase from the 2022 edition, while total watch-time soared 12 times to 7 billion minutes, highlighting the tournament’s surging popularity.
The India vs Pakistan clash on 5 October became the most-watched women’s international cricket match ever, reaching 28.4 million viewers and 1.87 billion minutes consumed. Another standout, India vs Australia on 12 October, recorded 4.8 million peak concurrent viewers on JioHotstar, setting a new benchmark for women’s cricket.
On television, the momentum mirrored digital success. India’s matches against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and South Africa, along with other league-stage games, delivered a reach of 72 million viewers — a 166% increase from the previous edition — with viewing minutes up 327% to 6.3 billion.
The stellar performance is credited to a unified marketing effort by the ICC and JioStar, with support from the BCCI. The ICC’s global campaign, ‘Will to Win’, combined with JioStar’s ‘Jersey Wahi Toh Jazbaa Wahi’, celebrating the India jersey, has resonated strongly with fans, creating a national conversation around women’s cricket.
Live coverage of India matches is available in five languages — English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada — across JioHotstar, Star Sports 1, Star Sports 2 Hindi, Star Sports 2 Tamil, Star Sports 2 Telugu, and Star Sports 2 Kannada. For the first time, an Indian Sign Language feed is also provided, underlining a commitment to inclusive access.
JioHotstar’s innovations, including four multi-camera angles (Hero, Batter, Stumps, Field view) and Max View, a vertical feed optimized for mobile, have further enhanced accessibility and engagement, making cricket more personal and immersive for viewers.
The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup India 2025 continues to rewrite benchmarks, blending record-breaking viewership with inclusive and innovative content delivery.
