Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) has taken a significant step toward expanding global academic partnerships by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Deakin University, Australia. The collaboration was formalized at Waves Bazaar, held alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025.
The MoU falls under the Australia–India Creative Collaboration initiative, facilitated in association with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). It underscores the shared objective of both institutions to promote innovation, academic excellence, and cross-disciplinary growth in creative and technology-driven education.
“This collaboration strengthens our mission to nurture global talent and push the boundaries of immersive and interactive media education,” said Vishwas Deoskar, CEO, IICT.
As part of the agreement, IICT and Deakin University will work together on academic programs, joint training initiatives, and research in creative and applied technologies. The partnership will also include masterclasses, workshops, and enhanced student and faculty mobility. Both institutions will engage with industry stakeholders to ensure strong real-world applicability and impact.
Adding energy to the event, IICT showcased its offerings through a dedicated booth at Waves Bazaar. Delegates and visitors interacted with representatives, explored the institution’s cutting-edge initiatives, and experienced its creative-tech activities firsthand.
The partnership marks a milestone in strengthening Indo-Australian collaboration within the creative education ecosystem and enhancing global opportunities for students and professionals in the field.
