Delhi High Court directs Nakkheeran to remove defamatory content against Isha Foundation and Sadhguru

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has issued an interim order directing Tamil media outlet Nakkheeran to remove allegedly defamatory videos and articles published against Isha Foundation and its founder, Sadhguru.

The order comes in response to a defamation suit filed by Isha Foundation in 2024, seeking removal of content it described as defamatory, vulgar, and intended to harm its reputation, along with an injunction against further publication of similar material.

According to the Foundation, the case relates to a series of videos released by Nakkheeran that it alleged contained false and malicious claims. An interim application was subsequently filed seeking immediate removal of the content referenced in the suit, including additional material published during proceedings linked to a transfer petition before the Supreme Court.

The matter was heard in December 2025, following which the Court had reserved its order. The interim order, issued on March 19, directs the removal of the contested videos and articles concerning Isha Foundation and Sadhguru.

Welcoming the development, Isha Foundation said, “We wholeheartedly welcome this interim order of the Hon’ble Delhi High Court. It is unfortunate that certain media outlets and individuals continue to propagate false and defamatory allegations without any evidence, as part of a deliberate effort to mislead the public.”

“For over three decades, Isha Foundation has been deeply committed to large-scale social development and human well-being– work that has touched hundreds of millions of lives across the world. It is this very work that these coordinated attacks seek to disrupt. Isha will continue to pursue all appropriate legal action against those responsible. No amount of defamation or orchestrated misinformation will deter our efforts towards human well-being.”

The Isha Foundation was represented by Senior Advocate Rajshekhar Rao and his team, along with Simranjeet Singh, Partner; Rishabh Pant; and Abhijeet Pandey from Athena Legal.

The development follows a previous order by the Delhi High Court in March 2025, which directed YouTuber Shyam Meera Singh to remove a video containing allegedly false claims against the Foundation and its founder.
