Mumbai: IndusInd Bank has announced a series of strategic leadership appointments as part of its broader vision to accelerate growth across its banking business. The new appointments are aimed at strengthening the bank’s leadership bench, enhancing core capabilities, and expanding its presence across key business segments, in line with its long-term ambition of sustainable value creation.
The key leadership appointments at IndusInd Bank include:
Viral Damania – Chief Financial Officer
Viral Damania, a seasoned finance leader with over 27 years of experience in global financial services, joins IndusInd Bank as Chief Financial Officer. His expertise spans Controllership, Business Planning, Corporate Treasury, Treasury Product Control, and Audits. A qualified Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, and Cost & Works Accountant, Mr. Damania was previously the CFO for Bank of America India, overseeing the Bank branch entity and BofA Securities India Ltd. He also served as a member of the country leadership team and a non-executive director on the board of BofA Securities India Ltd. His prior experience includes leadership roles at Citibank N.A. across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, and with Price Waterhouse Coopers. Mr. Damania also holds an ISACA certification in Information Systems and Audit and Control.
Anand Vardhan – General Counsel
Anand Vardhan brings over 26 years of legal expertise spanning documentation, dispute resolution, stressed asset management, regulatory compliance, and strategic partnerships. His previous experience includes senior legal leadership roles with Piramal Group, SUN-Apollo Ventures, HDFC Property Fund, ICICI Bank, and Tata Housing, providing him with deep insights into handling complex legal and regulatory matters.
Pragati Gondhalekar – Head, Internal Audit (HIA)
Pragati Gondhalekar joins as Head – Internal Audit, bringing over 27 years of global audit and consulting experience in the financial services sector. Her expertise includes strategic audit leadership, regulatory compliance, risk management, digital transformation, and Board governance. Previously, she served as Country Head – Group Audit, India at Deutsche Bank and held leadership positions at L&T Financial Services, PwC, and other reputed organizations. She is a Chartered Accountant from India and Canada, and holds certifications as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the USA.
Pankaj Sharma – Head, Business Transformation
With more than 25 years of experience in financial services, Mr. Pankaj Sharma will lead the bank’s business transformation agenda, focusing on driving digital banking initiatives and ensuring scalable, sustainable growth. He previously served as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Yes Bank and has held leadership roles at Axis Bank, RBL Bank, and the ICICI Group.
Sheran Mehra – Chief Marketing Officer
Sheran Mehra joins IndusInd Bank as Chief Marketing Officer. A marketing veteran with over 27 years of experience in driving consumer growth and digital transformation, she most recently served as Chief Business Officer at Tata Digital, where she spearheaded the launch and scale-up of Tata Neu, India’s first super-app. Her career also includes leadership roles at DBS Bank, Barclays, HSBC, and Ogilvy.
