iQOO launches hunt for Gen Z Chief Gaming Officer 2025 with ₹10 lakh prize

New Delhi: iQOO, the high-performance smartphone brand, has officially kicked off its search for the Chief Gaming Officer (CGO) 2025, offering one lucky Gen Z gaming enthusiast an opportunity to co-create smartphones, lead eSports initiatives, and engage with India’s top gamers—all while earning a whopping ₹10 lakh.

The CGO role is open to individuals aged 18-25, with applications now live on iQOO India’s official website (www.iqoo.com/in/activity/cgo) until March 30, 2025. This initiative aims to empower India’s gaming community by providing young players a once-in-a-lifetime chance to turn their passion into a career, collaborate with top eSports leaders, and engage with iQOO Connect’s 2 million+ questers—the brand’s official gaming community.

A Golden Opportunity for Young Gamers
The selected CGO will work closely with iQOO’s leadership team, sharing gaming insights, gameplay techniques, and interpretations. The role also offers access to cutting-edge gaming smartphones and the chance to represent iQOO at major gaming events worldwide.

Speaking about the campaign, Nipun Marya, CEO, iQOO, said, “We have always believed in the power of India’s gaming community, and the phenomenal response to our previous CGO hunt reaffirmed this. After receiving countless requests from our community, we knew we had to bring it back. At iQOO, we are committed to empowering young gaming enthusiasts by giving them a platform to step into the eSports industry and shape the future of mobile gaming in India. With CGO as an I.P, we continue to create opportunities for Questers to turn their passion into a profession and be a part of the vision.”

India’s gaming industry has witnessed rapid growth, with the number of gamers increasing at an annual rate of 14.6% over the past six years. According to IMARC’s 2024 report, India now has approximately 48 crore gamers, up from 43.9 crore in 2023. With the CGO 2.0 initiative, iQOO aims to further engage its growing community, drive innovation, and empower young gamers to shape the future of mobile gaming in India.

The brand recently collaborated with seven of India’s biggest gaming influencers, including Dynamo Gaming, GamerFleet, Mortal, Payal Gaming, Scout, Shreeman Legend, and UnGraduate Gamer, in a groundbreaking co-creation initiative. These gaming icons are rigorously testing iQOO’s gaming smartphones, providing real-time feedback, and certifying devices for performance.

In December 2024, iQOO further strengthened its presence in the eSports industry by teaming up with six top BGMI eSports teams and 100+ gamers, fueling India’s growing eSports ecosystem.

With CGO 2025, iQOO is doubling down on its commitment to the gaming industry, fostering a new generation of eSports leaders and redefining mobile gaming experiences in India.
