Mumbai: James Morris, Global Chief Production Officer at Publicis Groupe, will step down from his role at the end of October. The move comes less than a year after Morris assumed the global production leadership position, signaling the close of a brief but eventful tenure at the holding company.
Morris joined Publicis Groupe at the beginning of 2024 as Chief Executive of Creative Transformation for EMEA, and within twelve months, he was promoted to Global Chief Production Officer in January 2025. As he prepares to depart, Publicis has indicated that the position will not be directly replaced, hinting at a potential restructuring of its global production leadership model.
Reflecting on his exit, Morris remarked that the organization now has “a solid team in place,” making it a suitable time for his departure. He expressed gratitude to his colleagues and said he looks forward to watching Publicis’ continued growth “from the outside.”
Morris announced the move via LinkedIn, writing, “Shamelessly sharing some personal news. Thank you to all at Publicis and excited for what comes next. In the meantime, I’m going to enjoy time out with my family and mates.”
Before joining Publicis, Morris held senior leadership roles across several leading global networks and production companies. At Dentsu, he served as CEO for Creative, Entertainment, and Sport in the UK beginning in 2019, later expanding his remit to cover EMEA markets, overseeing creative, media, and production operations. Prior to that, he was Global CEO at Stink, where he drove content innovation across television, branded entertainment, and digital projects for clients including Channel 4, Google, and Nike.
Earlier in his career, Morris spent five years at Mediacom, where he built foundational expertise across creative and media disciplines.
His departure marks another leadership change at Publicis Groupe as the company continues to refine its global creative and production frameworks for a rapidly evolving media landscape.
