Jeetendra brings nostalgia and humour to Myntra’s birthday blast campaign

Bengaluru: Fashion, beauty and lifestyle platform Myntra has unveiled a new social media film featuring yesteryear Bollywood superstar Jeetendra as part of its Myntra Birthday Blast campaign, marking the platform’s 19th anniversary with a nostalgic yet contemporary twist.

The upcoming edition of Myntra Birthday Blast brings together an expansive selection of over 6 million styles from 20,000-plus brands, while also introducing “return gifts” for shoppers as part of the birthday celebrations. Positioned as both a cultural moment and a marquee shopping event, the campaign blends humour, emotion and scale to set the tone for Myntra’s biggest birthday yet.

The film opens at a birthday party in full swing, where friends gather around the birthday boy to sing the customary birthday song. In a playful turn, Jeetendra — fondly known as Jeetu Ji and long associated with India’s most iconic birthday anthem — cuts in with his trademark enthusiasm, belting out a heartfelt birthday wish to “Sunita,” only to realise moments later that the birthday boy’s name is Balaji. What follows is a series of humorous attempts by his team to steer him away from nostalgia, culminating in a birthday wish he gets perfectly right — Myntra’s. The film closes with the line, “Myntra ka birthday toh… sabko pata hai. Jeetu Ji ko bhi.”

Speaking about the campaign, Neha Gulati, Senior Director – Brand Marketing, Myntra, said, “At Myntra, our Birthday Blast is a cultural moment as much as a shopping event. With Jeetendra, we found the perfect protagonist, someone whose connection to birthday celebrations runs so deep that it invokes both nostalgia and humour. His natural charisma and impeccable comic timing let us tell a story that feels fresh, and we think audiences are going to love it.”

Veteran actor Jeetendra added, “It has been wonderful to be part of Myntra’s Birthday Blast campaign. The concept beautifully blends nostalgia with humour, creating something that feels both familiar and contemporary. It was exciting to collaborate on a film that celebrates Myntra’s journey while bringing a light-hearted and entertaining experience to audiences. I hope viewers enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed creating it.”

The creative collaboration was led by Talented Agency, with creatives Vaibhav Pachisia and Sanket Audhi sharing, “ Birthdays and Jeetendra ji celebrating them is an image that cuts across generations. To write lines for him, watch him bring them to life on set, and witness that energy up close was pure creative joy. It helped that Myntra were absolute champion as partners, and Lemonade Creatives and Ranjey Jha were rock solid in bringing the vision to life.”

Myntra Birthday Blast remains the platform’s flagship fashion, beauty and lifestyle event, strategically timed ahead of the summer wardrobe season. Early access for Myntra Insiders begins on 27 February, with the sale opening to all shoppers from 28 February, promising a mix of scale, celebration and nostalgia-led storytelling.
