Mumbai: The Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) is set to make its much-anticipated debut, bringing the raw intensity and grassroots spirit of kabaddi to audiences across India and beyond. With a strong focus on mass reach, the league aims to connect with fans across metros as well as the heartland, positioning itself as a truly inclusive sporting property.
To realise its vision of taking kabaddi to the widest possible audience, KCL has announced Zee and DD Sports as its official broadcast partners. The inaugural season will be telecast across more than seven television channels and multiple OTT platforms, ensuring extensive national and international visibility.
The first season of the Kabaddi Champions League will run from January 25 to February 7, 2026, with matches airing daily at 6:30 PM IST, a prime-time slot designed to maximise viewership and fan engagement across regions.
The TV broadcast lineup includes Hindi commentary on Zee Anmol, Z Bollywood, &Pictures, and DD Sports, Marathi commentary on Zee Yuva, Punjabi commentary on Zee Punjabi, and English-language global coverage on YuppTV, reaching audiences in over 60 countries. In addition, matches will be streamed live on ZEE5 and Wave OTT, offering fans the flexibility to tune in anytime, anywhere.
A key differentiator for KCL’s inaugural season is its strong vernacular focus. By offering coverage in multiple regional languages, the league aims to connect directly with Bharat, celebrating the sport in its most authentic form while engaging fans in their own language.
Beyond high-octane on-court action, the Kabaddi Champions League seeks to deepen the emotional bond between the sport and its audience, spotlight emerging talent from the grassroots, and showcase the true spirit of kabaddi rooted in regions like Haryana. With its first season, KCL aspires to carve out a distinct identity and establish itself as a significant new chapter in India’s kabaddi ecosystem.
