Cochin : The recent devastating floods that shattered the god’s own country, Kerala left the entire state bewildered and many households lost their valuables and homes to incessant rain and floods.

The natural calamity not only washed away the assets and valuables of the people but also the happiness, cheer and excitements the people deserve to have every year at the time of the most expected and happening native festival of Kerala – Onam. It is this time of every year, each and every Malayalee would be waiting to celebrate, shop and rejoice. In the event of unfortunate floods and monsoons Kerala missed out that very special period of joy and excitement

Nevertheless, to bring back the cheer and delight in the heart of every Malayalee, the entire media fraternity has joined hands to organise a revamping initiative  ” Great Kerala Shopping Utsav 2018″ aiming to reignite the festive excitement and to boost up the market that faced a severe decline amidst a series of unfortunate happenings.

All the major media houses including Print, Radio, Television and Digital have put their best foot forward to light of the spirit of shopping in Kerala. The initiative is primarily organised by Malayala Manorama, Mathrubhumi, The Hindu, The New Indian Express, Radio Mango, Club FM, Deshabimani, Deepika and a few others.

Surya TV, Asianet group, Mathrubhumi, Mathrubhumi, ( print, club fm, Mathrubhumi news and digital), Malaya Manorama ( Manorama daily, Mazhavil Manorama, Manorama News, radio Mango, digital ), Deshabhimani, Kerala Kaumudi, Mangalam, Madhyamam, Asianet news & Asianet movies, Flowers TV, Kairali news, Radio Mirchi, Red FM are amongst many other media entities that will be actively taking part in this initiative.

The Utsav will be a full- fledged celebration of brands and will provide special deals, offers and discounts to consumers at large. Retailers and brands are geared up to offer attractive offers and discounts and clients are provided the opportunity to use the media vertical of their choice to promote their offers.

The media houses will be promoting  the Great Kerala Shopping Utsav for a period of 5 weeks with editorial write-ups and news stories about the shopping festival season in Print, TV, Digital & Radio throughout the campaign period. The initiative will be also promoted through multi media campaign of Print ads, Radio commercials, Digital Posts and TV Promos in 3 phases : Teaser, Revealer and Sustenance to ensure 100% reach. 25 Crore worth Commercial Print Space, TV, Radio Airtime and Digital Promotions will also be triggered to ensure top-of-mind awareness for the Shopping Festival.

Great Kerala Shopping Utsav  will also be promoted with a mega raffle for prizes worth Rs3.3 Crore to boost up footfalls, where customers will get a chance to win bumper prize of 1 Crore worth apartment, weekly prize worth a lakh in each district and a daily prize worth Rs. 2000 for 20 winners in each district.

Great Kerala Shopping Utsav will rekindle the shopping spirit in Kerala and will bring back the joy, excitement and delight to the god’s own country yet again.
