New Delhi: KRAFTON India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, to strengthen India’s digital entertainment and interactive media ecosystem.
The MoU was signed by Vibhor Kukreti, Head of Government Relations, KRAFTON India, and T. L. K. Singh, Deputy Secretary, DPIIT, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations. The collaboration will focus on driving innovation, startup engagement, and capability building across gaming, esports, interactive media, and artificial intelligence.
Under the partnership, KRAFTON India and DPIIT will explore opportunities to organise innovation challenges through the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge, along with targeted hackathons addressing industry-specific needs. The collaboration will also include workshops, roundtables, and masterclasses aimed at building expertise in game design, animation, immersive technologies, esports management, AI applications, and digital production frameworks.
Additionally, the initiative will facilitate engagement with startups across digital entertainment, online gaming, esports, and AI, enabling industry exposure and collaboration opportunities. Both organisations will also promote awareness of global best practices in AI-led technologies, digital safety frameworks, and responsible innovation, while supporting participation in Startup India initiatives and sectoral programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT said that this collaboration with KRAFTON India represents a significant step towards strengthening India’s digital and creative economy. He emphasized that partnerships with global leaders in digital entertainment will enable startups to innovate, scale, and build globally competitive solutions in emerging technology domains.
