Hyderabad: Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu (MEK) the Telugu version of Kaun Banega Crorepati, was a roaring success on Telugu GEC Maa TV and it has unleash the actual potential of the channel and strengthened its platform to achieve a strong lead over its competitors. It also proved the capability of Actor Nagarjuna’s to handle such a prestigious show as host.
After the phenomenal success of the first season, the makers are gearing up to start the second season and if all goes well, Nagarjuna who got sentimentally attached to the show, will be back once again, as a host, sometime in the next couple of months.
However, Market sources confirm that the Production House Synergy’s existing agreement with Sony TV restricted them doing a regional format of KBC parallely, during the period of airing Hindi version in its channel and the same reason restricted the extension of first season also due to the commencement of KBC 8 on Sony TV by mid August. Hence, Maa TV is contemplating to re-start the show soon after the completion of KBC 8 on Sony TV.
The first season had 40 episodes and it also had several celebrities including Chiranjeevi, Kajal, Lakshmi Manchu, Vidhya Balan, Naga Chaitanya, Rana, Sunil and others taking part in the show and the show continued to be in the “numero-uno” position with TRPs hovering around 9 to 12 points consistently.
