Maharashtra1 creates major social impact with-in short span of launch

Mumbai : The new entrant in Marathi Infotainment space, Maharashtra1 was launched with a determination to alter the equation in Marathi news market. The channel headed by Nikhil Wagle is on a mission to create social impact right from the beginning.

It seems Maharashtra1 has already got in to the act. The Channel started journey on 1st January 2016 and on 3rd January the First Big Story of Savitribai Phule Bhide Shala was aired. On Savitribai’s Birth Anniversary, the channel highlighted the issue of the school that was in a very bad condition and within a they witnessed  their First Major Impact as the Pune Municipal Corporation made sure that the school would be given a Security Guards and would be renovated.

However, First Big Breaking Maharashtra1 was RSS Function and Show of Strength in Nandurbar. RSS cadre came on to streets with weapons. State Cabinet Minister Girish Mahajan was also present in the same event. Maharashtra1 wasthe only channel to show this story and ask the Minister about this Show of Strength with weapons.

The next Impact was Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan event which got some major eyeballs. Sammelan President Shripal Sabanis and Mahamandal were at loggerheads. Maharashtra1 was the only channel to cover the issue.

The Channel highlighted the lethargic approach of Mahamandal and reported the problems blow by blow. Initially, Mahamandal refused to print President’s speech. It had happened for the First time in History. As Maharashtra1 followed up the News for a week. Finally, the Mahamandal bowed down and agreed to print President’s speech after a week.

Maharashtra1 also did a Campaign on Right to Worship. As Shani Shinganapur Temple did not allow Women to enter the inner holy place, The Channel campaigned for Equal right to Worship.

Again, Maharashtra1 was the Only channel to cover this issue exclusively. They did this campaign throughout January and on 26th January when women protested against the issues, They got exclusive for their Prime Time and also got Chief Minister’s reaction First.

The Channel not only campaigned for Right to Worship in Temples alone, but also did for Mosques and Jain temples. They also did series of stories showing how in every religion women are denied Equal Right to Worship.

On the occasion of Republic Day the channel celebrated Spirit of India. Their Social Media Campaign called #BolBindhast got tremendous response. During the prime morning the channel’s campaigned was at Number 3 in trends.

Throughout January, the channel got exclusive interview of Sougato Bose. On Balasaheb Thackeray’s Birth Anniversary they had Ex CM Manohar Joshi. During Marathi Sahitya Sammelan they had President Sabanis Exclusive. And on the occasion of 26th January they did Anna Hazare Exclusive.

The Channel also had some major Impact on its flagship show Aajacha Sawaal. On the issue related to Open Space Policy, Govt had to take note of it and amend rules.

In Mahrashtra1’s flagship show Gret Bhet they interviewed personalities like Nana Patekar, Sharad Pawar and Sandeep Shetty.
