Mumbai: TBWA\Group Singapore has promoted Mandy Wong to Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Wong, who has served as president since 2022, will now lead the agency’s overall strategy and operations, while continuing to advance TBWA’s global “Disruption” philosophy across creativity, innovation, strategy, and client business outcomes.
Announcing the appointment, TBWA\Group Singapore said the move recognises Wong’s steady leadership in delivering growth, creative momentum, and organisational stability during a period of significant global change for the advertising industry.
Wong brings more than two decades of experience within the TBWA network, having spent over 20 years shaping the agency’s business direction and deepening client partnerships in Singapore and across the region. During her three-year tenure as president, she led notable new business wins including Mandai Wildlife Group and Health Promotion Board, while strengthening long-standing relationships with clients such as Singapore Airlines and Spotify.
Over the course of her career, Wong has also overseen complex regional and global mandates for brands including Singapore Tourism Board, Standard Chartered Bank, Airbnb, and Carltex.
Commenting on the leadership transition, Sean Donovan, president of Omnicom Advertising Asia, said Wong has played a defining role in the agency’s evolution. “Her clarity of vision, strong people leadership, and deep understanding of client needs make her the right leader to guide TBWA\Singapore into its next phase,” he noted.
Reflecting on her elevation, Wong said she was stepping into the role at a pivotal moment for the industry. “My focus is on leading with intention—strengthening collaboration across the group, supporting our people through change, and ensuring we continue to deliver work that is relevant and meaningful for our clients,” she said.
The appointment comes in the wake of a wider post-merger restructuring by Omnicom, following its US$13.3 billion acquisition of Interpublic last year. Within the TBWA network, leadership structures in other key Asian markets remain unchanged, with Joanne Lao continuing as CEO of TBWA\Greater China and Yee Hui Tsin leading TBWA\Malaysia.
Separately, TBWA Sydney recently appointed Darren Borrino as group creative lead, reinforcing the network’s creative bench as it sharpens its focus on craft and creative ambition. Borrino was previously group creative director at TBWA\Chiat\Day New York, where he oversaw creative duties for Nissan North America and Hilton Hotels’ global business.
