Mumbai: Singapore Airlines (SIA) has appointed Aswin K as General Manager, India, effective August 1, 2026. He succeeds Sy Yen Chen, who served as the airline’s General Manager, India for more than five years.
In his new role, Aswin will oversee Singapore Airlines’ operations across India and lead the airline’s growth strategy in one of its key international markets. He will also be responsible for strengthening relationships with travel trade partners, customers and key industry stakeholders.
Aswin joins the India leadership role from Milan, where he served as General Manager, Italy, since 2024. He brings more than 12 years of experience with Singapore Airlines, having joined the airline in 2014 as an Aviation Network Analyst.
He subsequently served as Regional Marketing Manager, West Asia and Africa, before taking on the role of State Manager for Karnataka and Telangana in Bengaluru. He later served as General Manager, Gulf and Middle East, overseeing SIA’s commercial operations across the region, before moving to Italy.

Aswin takes charge of the India operations following Sy Yen Chen’s tenure of more than five years. During his time as General Manager, India, Chen’s leadership and experience contributed to Singapore Airlines’ growth in the Indian market.
Aswin will be based in Mumbai, which serves as Singapore Airlines’ head office for its India operations.
